I was laying on the couch reading the book "The Verbally Abusive Relationship" and my husband came in and sat down at the computer and started playing a game. He had been out in the garage most of the night and the last few days I have kept myself busy doing things in order to keep us in different spaces. When we do cross paths we have been friendly and civil to one another (I have no illusions that he is making a turn around!) Anyway, I'm reading the book and after 30 minutes, he says (while still looking at the computer), "I'm trying to wind down and relax and you are trying to get me wound up reading THAT book." This was right at the part of the book where the author is talking about his reality and my reality. Instead of having him explain his reality, I just said, "Cut it out." He got up and went to bed.
What I find ridiculously funny is that if he read the title (which I'm assuming he did) and then he makes a comment like that - he is not only externalizing this again, but BLAMING me for his feelings, because of the type of book I read!! Had I said, "what are you talking about?" it would have fueled the situation and given him the power he thought he had.
Ohhhhhh....just 15 more days!!!

Good for you.
I have been reading "Why Does He Do That" by Lundy Bancroft and it's also really interesting. I found that after I read about half of the book that without a doubt my ex and I were in an abusive relationship. The book gave me the power also to stand up to him and boy did I on Sunday at his visitation. I just don't get why he won't admit he put his hands on me last year and pulled me by my hair down on our bed(while I was pregnant) He knows he did it and he still says that I have hit him more times than he has hit me. Yeah and he outweighs me by 30 lbs and about 5 inches in height. Yeah I could so take him.
Anywho, keep reading and the time will pass before you know it.
