Thank you both. Wes ley is now at Wake Forest University Hospital and is in surgery as I type. When they arrived at 5PM yesterday the surgeon decided to wait till today for surgery. They've informed Judy this morning that there will be multiple surgeries over the next week and months. They are hopeful he will survive and could even possibly talk again but as you know, only God really knows so please keep praying. Thank you.

Wesley was transferred succesfully to Wake Forest. They did surgery yesterday, 6 hours. They put metal plates in his neck to try & rebuild his air ways and they also out in a stint to help open the area and keep it open. They installed a feeding tube thru the esophogus as well. They had to shorten his vocal chords as the damage was much extensive than first thought. They are telling the family that he may not recover a voice. The doc also said this is just the first of MANY surgiers to reconstruct his air ways and prayerfully allow him to be able to sustain life by eating & breathing on his own without a trauc. Keep them in prayer as the good news this morning is that he may get to move out of ICU today. Thanks in advance for any prayers.

Thank you for the prayers. I understand from Judy (his mom) that Wesley may come home today but will go back on Thursday for more surgery. She said he was up walking. That's always good. She said they had to take a class on how to care for his trach and feeding tube. Its going to be a long recovery. Please keep praying.

A quick update on Wesley. He is in surgery again this morning. They are hoping to remove the stint and feeding tube but will only do this if can swallow. If not then there will be another surgery in a couple more days. He heas fluid in his lungs, his white cell count is up so he is receiving antibiotics IV style. He is continuing to throw up. His weight has dropped almost 20lbs since his initial injury. He is about 5'11" and was about 170 lbs before he was injured so he really doesn't have room to lose any. Pleas keep him in your prayers as well as his family. Thank yoU!

Ok so they removed th stint & the feeding tube. He can swallow and was able to vocalize a word or 2. Praise God! He was also able to eat and keep down some soup. Everyone was just amazed! God is so good. Anywho, they let him come back home last night. He doesn't go back for 2 weeks if he can keep well, no infections set in. This morning he is coughing a little. Be inprayer that its just from the feeding tube being removed. Thanks ladies!
