My best friend Wendy who has been Crystal's major support while all this has been going on, took her mother to the doctor on Thursday. Wendy suspected that her mother, only 53, was showing early signs of Alzheimers. After as MRI, the doctor gave them the report of a brain tumor in the soft tissue of the brain. The good news is that it is a type 1 and very slow growing. The doctor has given the news that with medication and a small amount of radiation, Janice could live out her natural life span as long as the cancer never changes. I spoke with Wendy many times this weekend and after a long talk last night, she and her mother are contacting Duke University today to get a second opinion. Duke has an awesome cancer research institute and is only 4 hours east from here. They just want to be sure that their doctor in Asheville hasn't overlooked anything and is right with his prognosis. Janice is sleeping about 18 hours a day now, is very tired all the time and extremely forgetful. She is an awesome person to know. I have loved her since she and I met when Wendy and I were in grade school. Please be in prayer for Janice and for her family.
Thank you ladies so much for all your prayers and support!
May God bless you always,
