Developments in case.

Luis is still sitting in jail waiting for a bond hearing. Apparently, he will be there until the 21st at the earliest and bond should be stratospherical. But wait, there is more! I got a call from the detective here in Fl. Originally, he said that this case wasn't worth looking at as there was only one incident here and the other offenses were in Ga. He was willing to send supporting docs to the GA state attorney. I was ok with it. I thought it was a bit rude because he said it was unfair to other victims to tie up his time when it was being dealt with already. In spite of that, I was really ok with it.

Fast forward to today....I get a call from the detective. He said upon looking at the report with fresh eyes, he thinks we should pursue it. He asked if it would be ok to interview the girls one more time on video. I said they would be ok with it. After he has that and the docs from the counselor, he will head to the FL state attorney with the warrent. Once it is signed, they will pick him up and bring him here for a repeat performance of Ga.

Here is the interesting part. Even if he gets bond in Ga, and can post it, he will then be told that he is going to be held for the Fl cops to pick him up and put him back in jail here. He said Luis will not be given a bond here at all. In the event that Luis can't post bond in Ga and has to stay until trial and then serve time after it, on the day of release, he will be re-arrested and brought here. Bottom line, he won't be out for a long time. I have peace with all of this. I feel bad for him because something had to have happened to him that caused him to commit these acts. I do pray he gets healing. Forgiving him hasn't been an issue for me. I'm done with it. I don't really think about it even. I'm glad to know that the girls are seeing justice being handed out. I'm also glad that as they forgive him, God is moving and doing things on their behalf. I hope Luis meets a man in prison who can show him who God is and can help him get forgiveness and more importantly, how to give it. His wounds are deep to be sure. I pray for his healing. I guess what satan intended for evil is being used for good anyway. Even if, on a very unlikely remote chance, he walks, I know God is working anyway. This has been a weird month for me. Lots of drama, but more peace....

Hey Kristi, Not to jump off topic completely but just where in FL are you if you do not mind me asking? There is a reason. My dad is a deputy sheriff in FL and he works warrants which means that if someone was being brought from GA to FL on a warrant he would be the one to pick them up.

You and your family continue to be in my prayers. Please keep us updated on what you can.

Just got back from the detective. Tomorrow afternoon the state attorney is signing the arrest warrant. There is no guarentee of conviction, but the case if fairly solid. I'm just praying for justice.
