Family Discussion on Priorities

With the poilitical climate where it is (up in the stratusphere) and the ethics, and morals of our country in the downward spiral that it is....

What are you doing to strengthen your family?

I was watching the news last night (I know, a mistake!) and They were showing two internet commercials that are using kids to 1. sing the praises of Obama, And 2. bash Sarah for not upholding the right to abortion.

I have to tell you, my stomach was turning. I felt as though these kids were being exploited. They are being used to push forward a propaganda that they don't even fully grasp. I realize that there will be some here who support either party, and that is fine. My concern comes in with how some people are using their kids to promote their views. The commercial that bashed Sarah had some blantant lies in it and the children looked so angry. I have to say, I was in tears thinking that our kids in this nation are being taught to hate morals.

And singing the praises of a MAN? Ok, that was disturbing. plain and simple.

It made me do some real soul searching on how I'm raising my kids. If the hearts of people are being hardened to the ways of a Christian life, am I preparing my children for what is to come? I don't think I am doing enough.

I'm praying about making some changes in our household. Just what, Im not sure. But I want to make sure that when things get even more vocal against pure morals and Christianity, my kids have strong faith that they can hold on to. I've never been in such a angry political race before. People are so mad and they have such a strong devotion to who thier candidate is. In our area, if you have a McCain sign, its a target.

Is that the right message for anyone? When you become afraid to have a voice, we are no longer a Nation of the Free .
