was outside roller blading today. He fell and smashed, and I do mean smashed, his face into the curb. Lora came running in on roller blades, to tell me he fell. Actually, it was more like a yell. I look outside and Cassie is helping the Bleeding Wonder up the driveway. It was one of those....what is bleeding really deals. So, after a cold paper towel pressure and clean up, I was able to establish that he split the outside of his lip. After a quick call to the dr to be sure he didn't need to get a stitch or 2 put in his lip, he was fairly chilled. He actually kept ice on it for about 30 minutes. Then he told me he was reclining on the couch to keep the blood in his face. He has a small bit of road rash on his face and knee. All said he is fine all things considered, with the exception of a fat lip the likes of which I haven't seen before. I had no clue lips could do that. It's like a botox treatment gone wrong.

Here is my favorite part. I was telling my mom about it. She says, "Didn't he have a helmet on?" To which I tell her he doesn't have one. Then she proceeds to tell me how unsafe those things are. My response was..."Mom, you used to let us roller skate down our dead end hill into a fence?!" After a chuckle, she tried to tell me those skates were different. I'm not sure I get it. This must be one of those...remember way back when we used to.....and survived...now it will kill you......thingys'

Oh your poor little guy. I hope he feels better soon. Lips can swell up right pretty but since he applied ice the way he did it should look better in a day or two.

I get the whole helmet thing. I am picky about car seats but was surprised at how picky my dad was. My youngest sibling was the only one who had one and that did not happen until he was almost two. We moved to a base that required them of children 2 and under. When I would go home with the girls he would check to be sure they installed properly and would tell me every time there was a recall on a brand so he could be sure I did not have one. Funny how it was good enough for me but not his granddaughters. : )

Poor guy! Hopefully that lip will stop swelling quickly. How is he this morning? Josh did somthing similar on his bike 3 years ago. He did a face dive into the gravel. It took me nearly 5 minutes to fin the source of the bleeding, his forehead. He acted real pitiful for a full week. Poor Jordon! Hey, I found a fan on Ebay! There are 2 just like the one we have on there. The price is half of the original selling price too even after you add in the shipping. You might check it out.

OW!

I hate face injurys they are so scary! All that blood and tiny vessels

I'm glad he is ok. Chloe has been telling me I need to get her a helmet. LOL!! I probably do with her vision issues. I just find it funny that she asked for one for her birthday.

Hope Jordan is better in no time!

You know those botox jokes are gonna hang around for abit.;)

Well, this morning he looks better I guess. Now it looks like his face was run through the meat grinder a time or 2. He put a hat on and is walking with his head down. He said he can go to the pier as long as he hides his face. I feel bad for him.

Aww poor little guy.

I must say the meat grinder comment made me cringe. I will never forget the little boy who did a face plant on the congrete at the daycare center I worked at YEARS ago. I felt so horrible for him. Not to mention how it scarred me for life seeing his skin haning there!

I hope to never see THAT again. Remind Jo it will heal, and he will soon forget what it looked like!
