Chris has made it through the first major portion of interviewing with this company. In less than a week, he is up to where he has 2 more phone interviews, 2 days on the job training and a 2 day trip to HQ in Kansas where they actually extend the offer. The recruiter has already told him that he will be given an offer. At a minimum, he will be offered $15000 more than his orginal salary at Pilot. I guess I'm glad, however, I really don't want to have to move. The recruiter said he thought that they would keep us here at least another year. It is a better financial move for them to let us not have a relo expense.

Did I mention that his boss over at Pilot did cut his pay? Yes, last night it posted $240 less. The really irritating part is that he told Chris he would sit down with him and check progress on his list of things to do at the end of the 3 week period. He said he would meet with him before any cuts were made. He didn't even talk to Chris at all, and Chris did everything the man told him to do. I'm trying to not be angry but it is hard.

That's terrible about Chris's paycut; however, I'm very glad to hear his interview went very well!

Okay, so what is the update? I'm glad to hear the inital interviews are going really well and that you will can stay put for a year. Sorry that the current boss apparently shows no spine. That is very low to cut it without and explanation first. Us budget minded folks could be totally ruined financially with such a cut. Sorry hon, but know God will bless you. ((HUGS))

Ok, so here's a twist. In the process of our waiting, Chris applied at Hobby Lobby. HL is a Christian based company. It is so much Christian based that they pray before all meetings and Christian music is all that is played in the stores. There are some legistical things to work together. The salary is lower than what Chris was making before the cut. However, it is more than the cut. He would have to train for up to a year. It needs to be here and not require immediate relocation. Then we will worry about future moves later. He has another interview tomorrow evening. He wasn't sure after the phone interview, but then he went to the store to meet the mgr. After that he was pumped up. It would put him in a good place spiritually. He's off every Sun and every other Sat. There are no late nights at all. Holidays they are closed.

On the other hand, there is company A. I just don't know that it is a good deal. The money is right, but I have a "dark" for lack of better word feeling the more time goes by. Things were supposed to be moving fast. Can we say dead halt? They want Chris, but they have gone to a hiring freeze. They are revamping the training program. In other words, choose a different door.

Either way, I just want Chris somewhere that is good for him. I can see this one opprotunity being a wonderful thing. I actually hope he gets it even if we make less money. I'll learn to stretch things more.....

I LOVE Hobby Lobby! There is one in Greer. And you are right, they do play Christian music in the store. Hmm, maybe God is opening the door to a job that would keep Chris close to his Christian values. I imagine working in a place with those kind a business morals all week would spill into the homelife. I'll keep praying for the right job to be offered and accepted. If you have that "dark" feeling, listen to it. God gives us those for a reason. ((HUGS)) Thanks for the update!

Hmmmm...plan B sounds pretty good.

I will be praying for clear and precise directions. Like Robin said, sometimes those dark feelings are God's warning, take heed perhaps.
