Mid June our youth are going on a train trip on the Great Smokey Mountain Railroad! I had it announced yesterday and sign-ups will go thru next Sunday. We are so excited! The kids have worked hard to pay for this outing. I think they'll love the train. We will be having a lock-in during July along with a July 4th cookout at the river. September we will have a skating trip. October we are off to Dollywood. That is all our youth plans for the rest of the year other than Christmas which we will work on as it gets closer. Not bad for such a small congregation I think. Anyone else got plans in the works? Vacations? Day trips? Pedicure?

I'm going back to Virginia Beach! I've always wanted to do one of those train trips, especially through beautiful scenery like that. I want pictures!!

That sounds like so much fun. I am wondering if there is a job opening for my dh in you area? : ) I think Randi would love being a part of your youth group.

I've never been to Virginia Beach. I hear it is a great place to vacate. We went to Williamsburg and stayed in the historic district during our first year of marriage. We went to Busch Gardens with some of our family. Everyone got food poisoning but me. Not only that, it was Memorial Day weekend and we packed shorts/tanks/flipflops because it was over 80 degrees when we left home. When we got to Williamsburg, overnight the temps fell to the mid 50's(and never warmed up again) and it drizzled rain all weekend.lol We nearly froze to death riding rides. It was funny looking back but at the time I had 3 people doped up on dramamine stumbling around trying to make the best of trip gone bad while attempting not die of hypothermia. What a hoot!

We have a small youth group which is cool. We have 5 youth who are always there and about 4 more who show up everytime we go on a trip. We always have fun no matter what we do. Have ya'll decided where ya'll plan to land when Rob becomes a civilian? I love it here in in WNC but my SH wants to move to east TN, which also is lovely.
