Any thoughts & opinions on my SIL welcome.....

I am 'on the outs' with SIL (my brother isn't my favorite persone either, he needs to 'grow a pair'!)

After I divorced, I moved dd from CA to AZ, so we could live closer to my brother & SIL (that was a mistake), because all of our children are the same age and I 'thought' they could grow up together....we moved 15 minutes from them, that was fine, the 1st ten months, we would all get together, at my house or their house. Then brother got a good job, an hour away & they moved.....I was the one that constantly traveled an hour away so we could visit, I gave them, nothing but support & praise for their new house, life style, etc., PLUS made the effort!!

What part did your brother and SIL have in your being a single parent?

I really understand where you are coming from.

1st thanks for all the replies, they are all VERY helpful for me, sorting out my feelings toward this situation!!

And, yes, this last post is 'right on the money'......I may have written my OP wrong.

Did your brother and SIL ask you to move closer to them? I'm honestly not trying to be rude, but if any of my family members, my own brothers or my inlaws moved to where we live and then automatically expected that we would hang out all of the time, teyd quickly learn that that wasn't going to be the case. I love my family, but we have a big, busy life and I like it just the way it is.

My brother is a single dad- and he struggles. He would never ask for, or take a dime from me unless it was truly an emergency, and he lives 5 states away, but I ca guarantee you that if I thought he was uprooting and moving my nephews to live with a woman they'd never even met, I would feel compelled to at least ask if he really felt like that was a smart move. I'm glad everything worked out for you, but you took a big risk with your daughter that frankly, like your SIL, I really wouldn't have done with my own child.

I understand.....to each, their own. (is that how that saying goes?)

yes, my SIL did ask me to move to AZ a number of times, before I moved.

BTW, I like the different opinions, because if I am the one that is being wrong, with my feelings....then, please, 'let me have it'!

I, certainly, do 'take in' all that is being said.
