I am just wondering how the sister-brother dynamics change if the brother does not put in his share of caring for the parents. My brother

Your DB relationship with his mom is between the two of them.

Thanks and what you say does make sense. But it is so hard to get away from the drama of this all. Mom grumbles, DB e-mails nasty stuff etc. Do I just say, "uh..huh..I understand..uh..huh...hmmm" and practise detachment???

Detachment is about setting your boundaries and learning not to be drawn in to other people's behaviors.

Wow - thank you so much for a well-crafted, well-reasoned response.
In time, I think I can practise detachment and remind myself not to get sucked into the drama whenever mom calls or brother e-mails me.
Thanks again,
