With the biggest holiday season of the year upon us, I thought we could share some recipes for simple and yet healthy appetizers (handy to know in case of guests or drop ins..... )

Here is a link to some:

These all look wonderful!!

For myself, though, I'd go to my nearby Mediterranean restaurant and buy take out of one of their hummus flavors and spiced pita pieces.

Then I'd ask guests to bring something of their own choosing. My two daughters would bring something interesting and different and really good.

My husband's family would bring the most simplest like summer sausage and crackers, cheese and crackers and potato chips. That's okay, though, for those are quite tasty too!

Years ago, I used to make crab stuffed mushroom heads that were delicious!

I also made a braunschweiger spread of my own recipe. Everyone loved it and those who normally don't care for liver, ate it and didn't even know it had liver in it.

I also made something on cocktail bread slices with an onion slice and some kind of homemade parmesan cheese spread that was put together and then heated in the oven.

That's all I can remember for now.

Gosh, I really do miss those days when I was able to make wonderful dishes and such of many kinds and served them on silver trays and my guests would all come dressed in holiday finery. I loved that..all of it..wonderful memories!! Oh, well, times do move on and change and that's okay too.
