That's okay, even late, we can still gab!! lol

At my weigh-in Tuesday night I lost 1.8 lbs. I won't be able to lose enough this week to get back into my KOPS status by next Tuesday. It will take me a few more weeks, but I'll get back there.

My husband had cataract surgery this morning and is doing well. He felt okay enough to go out for breakfast afterwards and then took it easy the rest of today. Tomorrow morning we go back to see the surgeon and probably out for breakfast again. At the restaurant, I eat their egg substitute veggie omelet, fresh fruit and mini multigrained pancakes with no butter and sugar free syrup. Not bad and tastes good too!

So, how are you doing this week?

HIDonna.

first off I'd like to wish J a speedy recovery, so amazing all that can be corrected these days.

I like the food choice you made... hardly know it is a diet version...

i'm doing OK.  I am back at PT  (started Wednesday: yesterday),  same trainer/therapist , same place and they still had all my records from post OP therapy and he remembered me .  We've added quite a few stretches, exercises, and 6 other machines , and the anti gravity machine and the treadmill that I have to use on slow and take very huge giant steps for stretching the hamstring, achilles and all those muscles in the back of my legs that have atrophied due to my gait/equilibrium problem I'm having.  Of course I'll continue on with the other 6 machines that I was using post OP.   I  will be going 2x's a week (most likely Tuesdays and Fridays) for 1+ hrs each time with stretching at home for the next 3 months.  The good thing is there are no appointments so one can go whenever, which I like that freedom.  He's there most of the time to watch over his patients, I know which times he is not there and will not go during those times.  They are open from 7am -9pm.  I'll most likely go during lunch hour as most of the regular clinic patients and reha patients are at lunch along with nurses and staff, so he said generally that is a slow period in the gym.     Thank you for asking ;O)

Hi everyone!

Been studying like a monk in the library all week long. Those papers are getting intense, and so are the deadlines.

Trying to eat healthier, but it's a struggle. Ate fast food most of the week, and the scale is showing it. I'm struggling to lose 10 lbs. that I packed on over the holidays, but it's really hard, and it's starting to show. I don't look overweight or chubby in the least, still looking very slim and athletically bulit for the most part, but my blouses and pants are starting to get tighter and tighter by the day, and I don't like it. I tend to be a stickler about my weight, so I'm probably still ok. My doctor says I just need to trim off about 5-6 lbs or so to be perfect. Most of the weight has been packing on my breasts, belly, and butt (the 3 b's, lol). I need to start eating healthier.

On a positive note, I'm starting to drink green tea again. I drank it a lot back in high school and college, but stopped over the past few years. It's really healthy, from what I've heard.

It's also been hard for me to exercise with all of this work. Oh well, I'll figure something out, like I always do. Wink

Suzan, good you're back at PT! I've always found it to be so helpful. Your exercises sound a lot like my dh's exercises. He has plantar fasciitis and has to stretch the tight achilles tendon every morning and evening. Of course most of the time I have to "remind" him to do so..sigh. The older we get, the more total body stretches we have to do. Gets annoying! This morning it was damp here with misty rain and I had more pains and aches than I normally have..weak legs..aching arms & hands..etc. So annoying!! Anyway, we keep on going like the Eveready batteries bunny..LOL!! Nice you can pop in without an appointment!

Thank you, we went in tor dh's recheck appointment this morning and the surgery is good and healing well. By this time next week, he'll be good as new with better eyesight! In two or three weeks, we'll get his eyes reexamined and get him new eyeglasses in an updated style.

As for me, the Girl Scout cookies were delivered today. Ut..Oh..I'm in trouble!! It probably won't be a good weigh-in next Tues. night!! Embarassed Sure is fun though..LOL!! I'm 8 lbs above goal, but I'll get that back off again soon, just not this week! lol

Megan...I have a pretty good idea of how you're probably feeling! I gained 8 lbs back and my pants are a wee bit tight around the waist. Hate that feeling!! It's a good-bad feeling, though, as I want it gone soon!! Not this week, though, for our Girl Scout cookies were delivered today!! LOL Surprised Good luck to both of us!!

You're drinking green tea..good!! I drink it every day, good stuff and good for ya!! Soon your school work will lessen up and you'll be able to exercise more too.

Hi megan,

I so remember what it was like to get all those papers written , corrected and in on time....  have patience it will happen ..... ;O)

Green tea is really good for you (not that I drink it),,,  it's also acts as a diurectic (sp) so it helps to get rid of toxins in the body also.

i'm pretty sure once your papers are written and you can spend a bit less time sitting in the library then those few extra pounds will fall off.  Just be sure while you have you head hanging down reading and writing or if you are on the computer long periods to flex your shoulders and move your head all around and get up and stretch your legs,,,,  ;O)

this week went well for me.  I liked going to the training center which is good as then I will really go. LOL

I worked out for 1hr 20 minutes , it was good.  I eliminated one machine that gave me a roaring headache on Wednesday,,, feeling good tonight so that was a wise choice.

Drank water while training and afterwards, even had a fruit plate as a snack....

Have a nice weekend..... TTYL friends

Suzan...Interesting that Physical Therapy, or PT, is called the training center there. It sounds intense like boot camp or military. Good you like going! I always liked going to PT too.

Water and fruit plate is a great snack choice!! Much better than my Girl Scout cookies snacking..LOL!!

I'm not doing so good this week. I'm doing okay with regular foods, but way too many cookies!! Lots of water, exercise every day, but oh, goodness, those cookies!! The end of next week is marked on my calendar for when I'll be going back into my strict eating plan again. Then the extra few pounds that I've gained back will come flying off and I'll be back at goal again. I look forward to it as I cannot stand how these few extra pounds feels!! Fun eating cookies now though..LOL!!

my suggestion would be for you to eat and enjoy those cookies, thoroughly and guiltfree.   You'll get back on track and those extra pounds will fly off again for sure.  Depriving ourselves or ignoring cravings just makes it worse.

That's what I'm thinking, too, and why I'm not planning on beginning the strict dieting again until next week. I do feel guilty, though, bad feeling! It's such a great feeling being thinner that even putting a few pounds on feels awful. That awful feeling is a good motivator, too, though!
