I started yesterday and had a good day all round.
hmmm, knees were good for 2 days and I could sleep. Not good for the past couple though, (back to square 1). I am doing a simple exercise which is: you sit on on the floor with your back against the wall , legs and feet straight out. With normal trained legs, the knees would be resting on the floor, (mine don't, there is a space). I have to press the knee down to the floor this contracts the thigh muscle (good exercise for anyone with knee problems). Hold with the thig muscle contracted and knee touching the floor. You should not be able to slip your hand under the knee , if you can you need to press harder. I have to keep at this until I put a piece of paper under there and when the knee is pressed to the floor the paper will not be able to be pulled out. (I have a LONG way to go before that will happen ). this is a very good exercise and helps if done properly. (You can also do this while watching TV, how good is that? you do many more that way). Also have to sit in a chair and just lift the footuntil the leg from the knee down is straight out,,, easy for all of you, not for me. I can only lift the left leg about 12" off the floor, right knee is stronger, and I have to do as many of those as humanly possible. This is what I do while I'm visiting iVillage. Actually the knee is not being exercied, the thigh muscles are and they hold the knee in the proper position.... right Hilary?
I'm keeping up with the walking, although I had to stop a bit sooner than I wanted to today, because my leg hurt! I was used to the little ache in my hip, but got a couple sharp pains in my leg today that made me decide to give it a rest a bit early today.
I'm staying on my food plan pretty well and lost another pound since I was weighed on Friday!
Last week was a shocker!
