Some of that makes sense. If you do stick to the My Plate guidelines eating only foods that you enjoy in sensible amounts, don't stuff yourself, and just be smart about it; it would be more satisfying. That's one of the reasons that I don't do fad diets. They're not satisfying and you can't stay on them forever.

When I seriously need to lose some weight (which is the case now), I sit myself down and say: "suzan, time to watch what you eat you little piggie, ".. I know exactly what makes me gain and I cut those things right out of my diet. No one knows better than yourself , if you are honest with yourself, what you need to do to lose weight. To me it's a mind set, not a diet, it's just eating smaller portions, and eating healthier foods, more produce /less saturated fats.
I totally agree!! I do still tend to call my healthy eating routine a "diet", though, when I'm eating smaller portions so as to lose weight. It's just easier to say "diet" even though I never follow a diet plan. It is the way I've been eating for years and how I will keep eating forever changing portion sizes according to losing or maintaining. Oh, how I long for the maintaining days to get here..lol!!
I don't do any regimented diets either--I've always just eaten what I know my body does well with and that is healthier food choices, smaller portions, more fruits and veggies. I can't do a lot of pastas, potatoes and white rices & breads.
