Do you ever roast the chestnuts Suzan? I love Fall but am over being cold right now. Come Winter and Summer we will all be complaining about the extremes again!

Happy Father's Day to D, J, & M. Did you enjoy yourselves?

(I don't like the stress with XMAS either, nor any holiday like New Years's or whatever,,, getting to old for stress... LOL)

Yes we do roast chestnuts; my dh likes to do them in a pan on the stove top. He peels them for me and we eat them. However, they will be from a bag of chestnuts I buy at the store, I don't eat the ones that drop,, thinking those are horse chestnuts anyway: not edible.. may be wrong on that.

Come fall and all throughout, street vendors sell them piping hot (in town) and my dh always will buy a small bag or those to eat as we walk around.

I went to school in England when I was 17 and chestnuts are one of the things I remember.
