Amazing how quickly the summer is flying by......
I haven't even had the hedge clipped yet this summer LOL

.......and with those words of wisdom....
I'm off to take a nap with C.
(no wonder my summer is flying by me;  I'm practically sleeping it away )
LOL

I agree! It seems like we should only be starting summer and it's nearly over! Kids here are going back to school and Tom is starting to think about camping. Which reminds me, I need to make a batch of dilly beans, if I intend to bring them to the campsite for the get together!

I should get out and start cleaning up in my front garden. But not today. It's pouring rain and thundering. Today is a good day for a nap. Maybe later, lol. Although Millie is already napping in the Panera bread box she uses for a bed in the computer room, lol.

Time certainly is flying Suzan,
Schools have started thos week as well as ds & his teaching.
So no idea where the time goes but ..
Labor day here all the public pools will close ..
Which means it will be time for us to figure out when to close ours.
Kind of depressing really to think about that :smileywink:

I didn't even realize it was so late until I heard the school bus this week in the neighborhood and was frankly shocked.

Dd's school doesn't start for a little bit yet.   She's practicing everyday 9-5:30.

I really hope we can go camping/hiking this weekend.  It's suppose to be unusually cool.  Just one night would be enough.

Well that certainly would be shocking to see theh school bus go by! Once the kids are out of HS it's a totally different time schedule. LOL

Hope you get to go hiking... Karyn,, how is the rain situation there now?

Millie has two beds, one actual bed I bought her in the living room and this bread box one in the computer room. The bread box one is from Colleen's baby shower. We got an assortment of sandwiches in a low box with handles and when I got home and happened to have it on the floor, Millie took it over. I added a little cushion and she loved it even more, lol. She usually spends the morning in it, alongside me.

The get together is going to be the Saturday Tom - and I by then - is/are camping. This year it will be on September 15th. Most of Tom's brothers and their wives, kids and grandkids show up. Colleen, Riley and Brian will come for the day (and night). We always have a lot of fun and always have lots of great food and drink.

Yes, I've lost track of the local school times.

We got a good storm a couple of nights ago.  Think we got one inch of rain.   It was so strange to be awakened by a storm, I got out of bed and stood out back and watched!

It's storming now but so far sounds like more thunder than rain.   That's ok, it's a start.  I heard we're still 6 inches behind.

We trimmed our bushes and plants last Saturday I think it was. So glad to have that finished!! They will probably need a little touch up this fall, but it won't be as much work. I still have some pokes and scratches on my arms from the Carpet Rose bushes!!

The cooler temps are so nice, especially when we're sitting on the deck or taking our exercise walks. Because of the cooler temps, we were able to double our distance on our walks. Fall is such a pretty season, but I dread W coming!! I cannot stand to be cold!! If our home was not mortgaged, we would spend winters along the TX Gulf coast or on the FL coast where it's warmer. We really wish we could do that!!
