Do any of you kick your shoes off in public?

Random question, I know, but a lot of my friends absolutely hate to do that. They're so embarrassed by their feet. With me, it's kind of a necessity (wearingh heels all day isn't too fun); when I'm on break, I almost always head to Bryant Park and kick my shoes off, resting my feet on a chair. Do any of you like to kick those uncomfortable shoes off when you're at the park, the library, etc? Used to do it all the time back in college when I was studying in the library; made me much more relaxed.:smileyhappy:

I don't usually do it, but I've been known to. I don't do it much at all in the Fall and Winter, because I often wear boots and it's more effort than I want to spend to unzip them and take them off. And I don't do a lot of sitting around outside or in buildings. Most of the time I spend in public is spent on my feet, unless I'm in the car. But in the Spring and summer, I'll sometimes take my shoes off in a theater, if I feel like it (although the feel of the floor of the theater often makes me put my shoes or sandals back on!). And if I've got on sandals, they just seem to fall off every time I sit down for a couple minutes, LOL! Most of the time in the summer, I'm driving barefooted (Now you all know - I not only go "topless", I also go

I hate wearing shoes and spend 3/4 of my day barefoot at home.

Yes, on occasion, I have been known to kick my shoes off! Always at home, even in the winter I walk outside barefoot! I used to sit at my desk barefoot when I worked in an office--and when I worked at the local newspaper I used to get up and walk around barefoot (very laid back atmosphere). I've even had friends who would ask that shoes come off at the front door--and I never minded that either, I was always happy to oblige (lol)!

I don't wear shoes around the house, either. I don't always take them off at people's houses unless I'm good friends with them and plan to stay awhile, and

I have painful feet. They're not unattractive and I keep my nails trimmed and polished all the time, but I always have socks and shoes on. If I'm going to be doing a lot of walking, I'll wear athletic shoes. If not, mary janes. I can never wear heels again, even little 2" ones are too painful now. I've had reconstruction surgery on both feet...fusion, multiple screws. I have taken my shoes off in movie theaters, but then rest my feet on top of my shoes so they don't touch the dirty floor. In the house, I always wear socks and slippers as that is more comfortable for me than barefeet.

I love to kick off my shoes. Sometimes though I will just lift my heel up out of the shoe and slip my foot back a bit to be less confined. I have to wear comfie shoes with orthonics so can not walk arund much barefoot even at home, as much as I would like too, I'd be screaming in pain with my pinched nerves at night. In the summer I will just wear my birkenstocks around the terrace adn driveway etc.... when on the couch though I am barefoot or with just my socks. (cold feet! LOL)

I love random questions like this, makes the board more personal! Thank you ;O)

Haha, yeah. These random questions just happen to pop up in my head. I was in my firm's library the other day, and I kicked my heels off and rested my feet on a chair seat, and the thought just came in my head about how many women are comfortable doing that. Then again, I tend to take care of my feet a lot (since I'm wearing heels nearly every day), so I need to keep my feet soft and pedicured. :)

Used to do it more when I was in college, nothing quite like going to the library, taking off my flats, and propping up my bare feet while reading a book. Ah, those were great days just a few years back, no one judged you. :smileyhappy:
