I didn't used to follow any sport very closely. They all seemed pretty boring and hard to follow.

ANN...You are right, when you find yourself watching games all by yourself, you know you're a real fan!! You have a lot of sports background, similar to mine.....

Grew up in NJ and my family were all Yankee fans. When the Yankees and Dodgers were in the World Series, that was a lot of fun!!

In high school, I liked football and basketball and loved playing basketball and volleyball myself.

Married to first husband, we were big baseball and football fans. We then liked NY Mets baseball and I also took a strong liking to the Green Bay Packers, WI football team. Why did I like the Packers? Well, because I liked the color of their uniforms of course..LOL!!! I knew all the team players and their wives. That was fun!!

Next, with husband #2, I had moved to KS and became a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs football. They've had very good years and they've had miserable years!! I had little interest in baseball by then except for the World Series games and would choose a team depending on whomever was playing in the Series.

We also watched golf on tv, tennis on tv, and I played on a women's volleyball tournament league before I met him and then we both played on a volleyball tournament league after we met and married. Fun times!! Oh, we were also big into the Wichita Wings Pro Indoor Soccer team..loved that!!

After he died, I continued to watch the Chiefs football games by myself. Yep, I was a real fan for awhile and then after a couple of years, I lost all interest in sports!

Now, I have little interest in sports teams and my current husband #3 doesn't either, but we do have season tickets for our Wichita Wings Pro Indoor Soccer Team as they are coming back after disolving the team for several years. That will be a fun time as we have group seating with my husband's son, my DD1 and her boyfriend and my DD2 and her husband.

Mostly, though, I enjoy whichever sports team my grandloves are playing on. Currently, that is my youngest DGD (8) who cheerleads for a middle school football team that we care nothing about..lol..and my youngest DGS (10) who plays on a soccer team now and baseball when it's in season.

Many years ago I would watch the Seattle Sonics, but that was it. About the only team I may check on is the Seattle Sounders soccer team. I have always like soccer far better...football and baseball bore me to tears.

Hi Ann, thank you for the thread ;O) I do run out of ideas for threads.
Anyway, I was never a real spectator sport enthusiaist but since being over here and having wacthed the European cup and World cup soccer games , I have become a fan. Bayern has one of the best teams . Most of the German national team players are from the FC bayern soccer team, when the time arises. I don't know how it is in other countries but in Europe when the time comes around for the world cup soccer games, the national team pulls back whichever players are best from whichever team they are playing on. That can be various players from the German teams or also those playing now for other national teams . We have 2 guys fromGermany that after the last world cup games, were recruited to play for Real Madrid, one of the best teams in the world. Anyway, it's fun to watch.

We do no have baseball or american footballl here, there is mainly soccer being played practically all year round and ice hockey oh skiing of course. I don't watch any of that though.
