I never made jam or jelly, but I used to can pickles and tomatoes, back when I had a garden. I've often thought of getting back into doing that, but without a garden giving me free produce, it costs a little more to do.

Did you like canning? I remember helping my mom can tomatoes in the fall,,, we had a shelf in the basement where they went.... she used them for spaghetti sauce .

We don't eat much of that stuff either... I can have a small bottle of pickles in the fridge for quite a few months if not longer. Tooo funny on the garlic.

Twoki, you do make lots of applesauce though....

Making jam without cooking it....

Just mash the fruit....add sugar and pectin....put in freezer containers....that's all there is to it.....will keep in the freezer for up to a year....
