I found a recipe for duck. Actually, I found two recipes. I've never had duck, but have been looking for something different to fix so I was wondering . . .

Have you had duck?

I've had duck only one time; it was years ago and I can't remember where or when. Dark meat and a little greasy are the only things that come to mind; don't really remember whether or not I liked it.

As for the five spice, I like it. I don't think it is overly spicy--just a

I've had duck twice. The first time was at The Peppercorn Duck Restaurant at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Kansas City. They cooked their ducks in a huge glass and bronze rotisserie, a beautiful sight to see! Their duck was delicious, the best, and served with three different sauces. Because I had had such a good duck experience, I had it again at another time in a different restaurant. It was not good this time, greasy and grizzly. So, it depends on how it's cooked whether it's good or not.

Sadly, The Peppercorn Duck Restaurant closed last fall after 35 years in business. It was such a special place, so sad.

I have had duck many times. I only hesitate to eat it has so much fat , but my ds and dh love it. When I make it , I make duck a l'orange as I like the sweet orange sauce. http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Duck-a-lOrange-233535

The 5 spice powder is Sweet, sour, pungent, etc it isn't spicey as far as I now,, there is no red or cayenne in it.

morning Michelle,
We like to go to Wienerwald (the German rotisseri chicken restaurant, sure you have eaten in one) and they have chicken and duck. both are very good and the fat drips right off into the machine so they are not greasy.

Thanks, everyone. I've decided to try at least one of the recipes. It's for duck breast and has the 5 spice powder in it and a honey-orange sauce.
