Because of my high level of thyroid hormone, he's almost sure there is still cancer. So I have to go get an injection (of thyroid?) two days in a row, then have a scan and do the radioactive iodine pill again. Oh joy. I'm just waiting now for someone from the doc's office to call and set all that up. And if I do all that, and there is no sign of cancer, apparently he'll want to do a PET scan to be sure. It sounds like he's really sure I've still got thyroid tissue left and that it's cancerous.
I'm a little scared, but mostly I'm annoyed. Annoyed that I have to go into Milwaukee two days in a row for the shots, annoyed I have to have that RA again. Annoyed that my stupid thyroid was so big they didn't get it all. I thought I was done with all this! I feel good! Why doesn't this ever seem to end?
