Last night dh and I settled in and watched "Changing Lanes" with Ben Affleck and Samuel Jackson.  That was a good movie, would have been even better if on DVD but it was on TV so had to endure the commercials.  I'm hoping to really "get into" my latest book, Linda Castillo's "Dead Reckoning".  It's snowing up a storm outside, ds came over this morning and shoveled the walkway for us.   With that, I'll brew up a cuppa hot tea for me and settle in on the couch to read (or watch Boston Legal,, nope not finished with that yet).    It's too cold for me outside and snowing again...

Changing Lanes is a pretty good movie. I know what you mean about commercials. I can't remember the last time I watched a movie on tv with commercials. With Netflix and Redbox, I can usually manage to see what I want to see without commercials. Even tv shows bug me now. I'm so used to recording shows on my DVR, I automatically tend to reach for the remote to skim through commercials and it annoys me when it's live, LOL!  One thing about a DVR - be sure you want it, because once you have it, you'll never want to be without it! It's especially nice to be able to pause a show ("live" or recorded) if someone comes to the door, the phone rings, or your husband decides to make popcorn, lol, and pick it up when the distraction is over.
As for what I'm watching lately, I stream The Walking Dead, and I've got 2 of the Star Trek series on Netflix streaming to watch when the spirit moves me.  And as for movies, I recently saw Flight, with Denzel Washington and really liked it. D. Washington is always good.  And one called Faces in the Crowd (with, I'm thinking.... Mira Sorvino?) is also pretty good.

In books, I finished Divergent a couple days ago and liked it, and now I'm reading The Blessings of the Animals, by Katrina Kittle and I'm liking that, too.

I saw Denzel's flight,,,, I liked the movie,, don't think it's Oscar material though, he's done so much better...  (thinking Lincoln Rhyme).... but yes, he's always good.  Sure doesn't make me want to take a flight anytime soon.LOL

When are the Oscars?  Do you watch it?

I think the Oscars are on this weekend. I don't usually watch it, though. Sometimes I'll record it and watch it later so I can fast forward through the boring parts, the speeches, and the commercials. It goes fast that way, lol!

Fluff is fun! My "fluff" is Young Adult series. The Hunger Games series, the series with the teen Shadowhunters, the Divergent series and another one called, I think, the Iron Fey series. I love that kind of thing for quick light reading. One can't be serious all the time!

I am reading Left Neglected by Lisa Genova - I am enjoying it - very interesting.  I am also listening to The Emperor's Tomb by Steve Berry.  It's good, a little drawn out, but interesting historical fiction.  Not watching our shows this weekend DH is out of town and we wait and watch them together.  I'm puttering around the house trying to deal with piles and working on a quilt when I can't stand the piles!
