How far do you go to get comfortable on a "fat day"?

Recently (because of the holidays), I've been realizing that bloating really, really sucks. The day after Christmas, I put on a pair of my favorite jeans, and I was so bloated, that they could barely fit. Later that day, it got so bad, I had to actually unbutton them just to sit down comfortably. (It was so embarassing!) Do any of you go through this, and how far do you go to get comfortable?

I'm doing great, most of my jeans fit well again (only one pair doesn't fit quite perfectly yet), but a few days ago, when I went out to eat, I didn't have to unbutton my pants to get comfortable! (Yay!) The bloating is gone, mostly. I usually don't go to the ladies room to unbutton, I usually discreetly do it wherever I am (unless it's so bad that I have to unzip to get comfortable), and that has only happened a handful of times.

So how are you doing , are you getting back to pre holiday size and health? (hopefully)

There is no problem in unbuttoning your pants as long as it is done discretly (like in the ladies room) and not demonstratively at the table. KWIM?

I usually wear sweatpants or elasticized pants a few weeks after the holidays. That day, however, I decided to wear some skinny jeans, just to be fashionable. Next time I know, function over fashion! :smileyhappy:

It wasn't so bad, I just pulled my blouse over my jeans, although leaning back and opening that top button was kinda embarrassing (especially because it was an office get-together) :smileyembarrassed:

I have knit pants with elastic waist for occasions like these after holiday times. I do not tuck my shirt inside my elastic waist pants for that would look odd. I do wear them at other times, too, but always after a holiday meal. Then I go to work the next day to get that excess right back off again for I can't stand that feeling!!

Not very far, LOL! I hate being uncomfortable due to water retention or weight gain, but I suck it up and use the uncomfortable feeling as a reminder that I need to get myself back on track. I only and happily resort to sweatpants in the evening.
