All the back streets in my town are 15 mph, all the time, school hours or not. Around the school there are those traffic humps (or whatever you call them). You HAVE to slow down or the bottom of your car will get ripped off your car. That is effective and easy to construct and low cost... maybe suggest it to your town hall. LOL We do have radar, but I have to admit not many people run a red light here.
I have to say that the drivers in Turkey are soooo bad,,, (no real driving lessons at al, if you can turn on the car you'll pass the test LOL). Know one thought about stopping for a red light. they even have timers on the traffic lights telling you how many sseconds are left to wait,,, but people will just start driving when it gets down to 10 seconds or so.... at any rate, they have started to put radar on the lights all over the city. It's helping. I always say if you want law and order then hit people in their wallets, it's the only thing they'll pay attention to. LOL
OH poor girl,, that is a pity. I really don't understand why there are not drivers courses and a real drivers test befor people get their licenses,,, maybe as there is NO One in the country (turkey at least) that is qualified to train any one else.
The taxi driver that brought us to the airport was a maniac. He came up the curve into the international terminal and the car went out of control (it's a very high bridge) and we were all over the place.... so scary,, nice way to have started our trip.
I don't believe you did that either .. silly! Man, it happens but such a shock when you realize what you have done. Glad you are ok is the main thing and fingers crossed there isn't a camera on that intersection. There is so much to think about at this time of year ..
It happens to the best of us, Ann.

Just glad you were safe.
Sounds like the drivers in Iran.
Yeah, they probably would have been laughing too hard to give me the ticket!
