It does help to know that the odds are with me. I'm also keeping in mind that I have a mammogram every year, so if there is something cancerous there, it will be caught early.

Of course you would worry and I think that's normal. I did when I got my call back. I did when the radioIogist came in with another doctor to tell me there was a lump and it had to be checked out and they proceeeded to do teling me that I'd know then and there if I had breast cancer or not. Both cases turned out to be non cancerous lumps. They just have to be careful. Breasts do change and since they have previous mammograms they look at them all and compare them,, any teeny tiny little change and they will call you back. Thank goodness they do it. Wait until thursday, before getting in a total tizzy.... because the recall is normal, they have to be certain. (())

Most of the time they call me back for a second mammo and an ultrasound. Two times ago, they didn't even wait to call me back, they took me right across the hallway and did the ultrasound right away. Last time they didn't call me back and I was wondering why and if they got a good enough reading. I got scared the first time they called me to come back, but now it's expected for me and no big deal. I'm glad they want to take a better look.

Ann, I know several people who have had to go back for second mammo and I've had to go back once. All came out fine for me and those that I know. My sister gets called back every year for a second look and all is fine. I pray that you get the same news that "All is good." Take care, Ann!

A call back in not necessarily something to worry about, Ann. I had a call back one, but ended up just be some fiberous cysts that a lot of women have.

I can try telling you what I try to tell a dil, worry won't help, it won't change a thing, if anything worry just makes things worse. I know its hard sometimes not to worry, hoping for the best!

I have fibrocystic breasts and usually have to have second looks. Sometimes it could be a smudge on the film. Try to relax & think POSITIVE ~~~~

Thanks, I'm trying to think of it as a precaution and not a certain diagnosis of cancer, but my luck, medical-wise, isn't good lately and I find it hard to stay optomistic.
