I saw crocus in my backyard!

Just reporting in: It has warmed up quite a bit and the snow has mostly melted and as I looked out in the yard this morning, I saw a purple /white crocus in bloom. There are tons of little green points sticking up in the grass and flower beds, so promising...
Of course next week we are supposed to have a big snowstorm.... hmmmm but for today, it was pretty to see that crocus.

So jealous....all I see is snow...10 inches of it....lol....Enjoy before the snow comes!!!
We are hoping we only get rain, that the snow belt stays up north this time. OK there are also some yellow crocus today,, enjoying them as well.
I've always liked seeing Crocus popping up scattered in people's lawns. When it comes time to mow the grass, do they just disappear or what happens to the plants then?
Lucky you getting to see them!! I know they're around here, too, but I don't have any planted.
HI D: Crocus are long gone before I mow the lawn. won't have to do that until end of may. The only thing I have to mow around are the daffodil clusters I plant around in the back yard. All bulbs can just be mowed over, they come up in the spring again. The longer you wait to mow down the leaves (like tulips/daffs etc) the stronger the bloom is the next year. But as I said, the crocus are up now and die off by mid April.
How pretty! We just have knee deep snow still. It has probably melted down a bit as it was in the 50's yesterday & will be pretty warm today. I did notice in my flower pots on the deck that a pansy is trying to make a come back
We sat out on the deck yesterday & soaked in some rays.It felt good.
