We went to Kansas City Friday morning to be gone while our new roof was put on. The roof is on, they still have some end stuff to do, gutters aren't done yet, didn't expect they would be, deck still needs to get done, air conditioner metal cover hasn't been replaced yet. So, still a few more days of this, but the main source of noise..the roof..is pretty much finished for the most part.
We stayed at Embassy Suites near the Country Club Plaza and we really liked it there a lot. I hadn't been there in many years and knew it was an older hotel, but the rooms have been updated and are very nice. We hung out there Friday night, went to the Managers Complimentary Happy Hour where they give you two free drinks and snacks each night. Then we ate dinner at their Cattleman's Steak House restaurant. Later we were tired an hung out in our suite.
Saturday...Ate their included full hot buffet breakfast with omelets to order and more, then we went to the Nelson-Adkins Museum of Art. There were three temporary exhibits there. One was the original Monet Water Lillies oil painting triptychs!! The three panels are BIG!! I had no idea his Water Lillies art was so large and I did not know it was three panels!! WOW..What a thrill to see!! The colors are so beautiful!! The three panels are owned by The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, the Saint Louis Art Museum and the Cleveland Museum of Art. There are five other Water Lilly panels too and, I think, 26 panels and paintings total.
