Yesterday I decided to start thinking about all the holidays, to avoid stress later on!
I booked a table for 5 (dh, me, ds, dil and diva) at the Marriot. They have the most wonderful Thanksgiving evening buffet. I've actually never seen such a massive and delicious buffet in my life (we went a couple yrs back when ds wasn't home) . As I called dh to let him know that we'd be dining out this year, he said he had gotten an em from his Lodge , that they were having a social at the same buffet . So we decided to just join all of them (the more the merrier),, and of course invited ds /dil /diva and they said yes they'd like to come. Actually my ds would rather me cook the meal at home but my dil decided they should get out with us and meet some people. So I am really happy about this. 4 days afterward, I'm taking off to Ankara for 10 days, I booked that trip yesterday too. (got a great price so am happy about that) .
So what are your plans or are you undecided still?
Really don't have any plans to make as it is agreed that Mom handles the holiday and the kids come home for the dinner that makes their mouth water for the other 364 days of the year.
I sent out an email to my two DD's and will have to wait until they decide when we can have our Thanksgiving. We usually do it the day after TDay with husband's family. It doesn't matter to me if we have it on the actual day or not, or even on the weekend, so my DD2 can spend it with her inlaws on the day and I have no idea what DD1's plans are as she and her boyfriend that she broke up with are back together now. Sometimes I just want to skip it alltogether!
The only thing I've picked up so far is vacuum packed chestnuts for the stuffing. Since we'll be eating out, i'll use them for a XMAS turkey (if I can find a turkey at all: same thing every year!) Hope your dh will be able to stay thru the holiday too! Nice for you and for him,, he sure works hard!
Let us know when you reach the hospital. Has nothing to do with your call be important or not dear.... you know that. It just depends on the scheduled OP'S, the doctors operating when and when they can fit it in... not all the simple for sure. You'll know soon and then you can plan. Lots and lots of time still. ;O)
