Shelby was 17 years old this month and has not been doing well for some time. Yesterday and this morning, she got worse, so we took her in to see the vet. We were thinking that we probably wouldn't be bringing her back home with us. We were right, too many things wrong with her. It was way harder than we even thought it would be to let her go. Tears keep coming. Lots of memories keep flooding our thoughts. She was always the sweetest little furgirl. Sad, but we're okay. Just wanted to let you know as I know some of you have been through this type of thing before too. Hard.

This photo is old, taken at my former home. The black areas on her had turned grey in the past few years. My sweet little fluffy ball..Shelby....

Tons of hugs to Donna,
Never easy to lose a furkid.
She sure did live a good long life though.

Oh, Donna, I'm so sorry. I know how losing a pet can feel like a part of you is gone. My thoughts and sympathies are with you.

Thanks Deb. It sure does rip your heart out. Yes, she was snuggle loved every day.

Thanks Hugs, never easy for sure.
Yes, she did live longer than any of our friends dogs who have died in the past several months.

So, so sorry Donna.

I know so well...we went through the same thing with my Molly June of last year.  She was 18.  It was so heartbreaking. The tears came for a long time.  I still miss her and grieve for her.  Such an emptiness without her.

I've heard you talk about your Shelby so many times and know she was your sweet little companion.  17yr of attachment is hard to let go of.  I know it will be hard for awhile and you will never forget her.

(((hugs)))

I know what you mean. When my cat died many years ago, I heard her sweet little meow for years. I still miss her and now Shelby is gone too. Hard.

I can't express the sadness that I feel right now. I'm sorry that you have lost a true family member , one that will be missed terribly. Shelby lived a very long and pampered life with you and now is resting in peace. RIP -VIP
rest in peace very important pet Shelby. (())
