The biopsy showed thyroid cancer in the spot on my spine.  This, strangely enough, is good news.  They pretty much knew it was cancer and now that they know for sure it's thyroid, they can move forward with getting rid of it with radiation.  If it had been another kind of cancer, like from my lungs or something, the treatment would be much worse, like chemo or surgery and the prognosis would not be as hopeful.

So I go on Thursday to talk to the radiation doc and probably set up a shedule for getting the radiation treatments.   Thanks for hanging in there with me and caring about this.

Hi Ann - I haven't had much time for posting or reading. But I have followed your most recent medical issues. I'm sorry you've had to go through this - such a long waiting game. I'm so happy to hear it is such a treatable type of cancer. I agree with your decision to go ahead and get the radiation treatment done right away. I look forward to the cure celebration in a few months! Take care, Teri

Ann...Sorry you're having to go through all of this, but glad they know what it is and can fix it. I would have made the same decision you did and I hope the treatment goes smoothly and isn't so bad. We'll be hanging in there with you all the way to victory and beyond!!

Hi Ann,   well you  made a good choice IMHO,  having the radiation then whatever is there is gone.

Thanks. That's my thought, too. The doc said I didn't HAVE to have the radiation right now, or at all - it is my call, but I'd rather have it, get it over with while the spot is relatively small and get rid of the cancer (permanently, with any luck).

Ann, we're always here for you, you know that.  In a couple months we'll have a celebration of your cure.  For now, I'm sorry to hear the news but as you said,  relieved that it's controllable and that they could pinpoint exactly what it is for a more accurate treatment.   (()) It's important that you are in good hands and you certainly are.
