Since we won't be returning until the day before T Day,  I won't be having the regular dinner on that Thursday.   We already discussed it with ds and he understood totally (phew).   Since dil's parents are still in town we may get together at the chicken place that evening and have chcken schnitzels and fries....   My big turkey dinner will be combined with XMAS dinner, and I hope by then I'll be able to prepare a big dinner.  I sure am not able to do much cooking right now so we'll see..... not even sure I'll be able to put up a tree this year  ;O)   (That would be a real pity, as it's Mikey's 1st XMAS)

So what are your plans if any,,, pls share all the details : where, with whom, when, what'cha planning to make or eat .....  if you are invited will  you be bringing a dish and if so what.....will you be shopping the day after T day? ( and anything else you care to share.... LOL)

Hii Ann, Now THAT's a plan... glad you have concrete plans and will be able to spend time with Little Miss Riley.... carrot cake sounds good. Have fun and good choice not shopping the day after T day. How far from Colleen does her MIL live? Is it a longer or shorter drive for you?

D, have a nice time! Will you be staying right at the house? I agree shopping after the holiday is really nerve wracking.

Hi PAT, I know U R right about the tree,,, I could do a little one but my ds loves a huge 8 footer and that means a lot of lights and that's the part I can't do. Before you ask, nope my ds will not want to do it.... LOL I also think that on real "serious" holidays like XMAS and T DAY and 4th of July... the stores could be closed..... glad you do have some time off though.. That's a great idea to shop local... I'm doing a lot of online shopping this year... for a change. LOL

Shame if you won't be able to put up at tree. Mikey is just a wee little one- he won't notice but everyone else will !

Not sure what we are doing. Probablt the usual- cleaning & catching up on sleep.  I only have Mon & Thurs off- not really much time for anything this week...sigh...
I will not be at any store Thurs or Fri- ok I have to work Fri night. I am disgusted that stores feel the need to be open on Thanksgiving Day. I have decided to shop local for any gifts I buy this year

We'll be driving to OK TDay morning to spend the holiday with DH's DS & GF and DD, DSIL & two of their kids and also DH's X-Wife. We'll be bringing apple cobbler and a broccoli salad. I'll eat a little turkey and bring plain cooked broccoli and apples for myself as I'm planning on staying on my diet. DH's DS & GF just moved down there and this will be the first time we'll be seeing the house they bought. We'll be coming back home the day after.

No, no shopping the day after. That's a good time to stay far away from stores.

We'll be going to Colleen's MIL for Thanksgiving. I'm making a carrot cake and bringing peas, asparagus and wine. I assume we'll also have turkey, dressing, and probably mashed potatoes and gravy. I will NOT be shopping the day after T'giving!
