Since we won't be returning until the day before T Day,  I won't be having the regular dinner on that Thursday.   We already discussed it with ds and he understood totally (phew).   Since dil's parents are still in town we may get together at the chicken place that evening and have chcken schnitzels and fries....   My big turkey dinner will be combined with XMAS dinner, and I hope by then I'll be able to prepare a big dinner.  I sure am not able to do much cooking right now so we'll see..... not even sure I'll be able to put up a tree this year  ;O)   (That would be a real pity, as it's Mikey's 1st XMAS)

So what are your plans if any,,, pls share all the details : where, with whom, when, what'cha planning to make or eat .....  if you are invited will  you be bringing a dish and if so what.....will you be shopping the day after T day? ( and anything else you care to share.... LOL)

Thanks for the welcome Twig04.

Had a decent TG, not as many people as hubby was in the hospital the day before for surgery. Seems his diabetes is no longer able to be managed by diet, but is now with insulin shots. His mom and our oldest actually made TG dinner and we were able to come home Thursday afternoon, so didn't have to spend TG in the hospital.

I live in California and like to crochet, read and paint.

SUZAN QUOTE:

>>> D, have a nice time! Will you be staying right at the house? I agree shopping after the holiday is really nerve wracking. <<<

Thanks S, it was a really good time!! We stayed at their home for the day and evening only. We are way not overnight house guests in anyone's home! We like our comforts to suit us and our privacy and always stay at hotels. Other than my own kids and grandkids, I don't like overnight guests in my home either. Too stressful. That's why I do not have a guest room in my home either, only a sofa sleeper in the living room for my grands.

Hi Teri, it sounds like a nice gathering. A couple weeks ago I saw and bought a large turkey breast,,, I have no clue how to bake it... or for how long... so I stuck it in the freezer.... LOL decorating,,,, hmmmmmmm I bet many are doing just that but I think I'll wait until the 18th of Dec to do that (outlaws depart on the 17th) and then I have to rush around to get the XMAS stuff all done..... hoping to do a bit (most of it) before they come and all by myself... ) ..... decorating,, does that mean you'll put up your tree?

I'm cleaning house now for TDay. The two boys will be here late morning to hang out and do some work on DS2's car. Mom will get here sometime in the morning too. My bil, his wife and daughter and a friend will join us around mid afternoon. For dinner, we will have crab legs, two turkey breasts - each prepared a different way, dressing, mashed potatoes, fresh green beans and cranberries. Sis in law is bring dessert alone with the dressing, one turkey breast and the cranberries. So we don't have a ton of cooking to do! Mom will leave sometime Friday morning to go see the newest great grandchild. I'm not sure if the boys will spend the night or not. And I WILL NOT be shopping on Friday. I may start decorating on Friday. Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Teri

Twig,

We will have our TG celebration on Saturday. We are usually the flexible family so that the family members can go to their SO's families for the regular holiday date.

I think we are close to 20 ppl attending, and some or most bringing dishes. Normally we prepare it all. Our oldest is living with us with our two granddaughters and she is a terror on the holidays, rest of the family would be happy with pizza on TG but she wants the bells and whistles. Though for Xmas eve we always go all out.

Looking forward to so many family members coming, just not sure yet where they all will be sitting lol

Ann that is really great news...  glad to hear Riley will be staying with you again, and of course wonderful that Colleen keeps up her friendship with her gf and of course the party,,, nothing like a kiddie b'day party.    A perfect weekend for sure.

C's MIL lives about half way between us. So it's a shorter drive for us both. About 45 minutes north for us and 45 minutes south for them.  And I know now that Colleen and Riley will be coming back here with us Thursday night and we'll take them back on Sunday!  Our neighbor's dd is coming here for the holiday and weekend and is having a 1st birthday party for her son (neighbor's grandson), and Colleen wanted to go to that and knew Riley would have a great time with the other little kids.  So we'll have them here in just a few days!
