Sigh, Why did Tom buy that ambulance?

It's very cool and it holds a lot, but, man, that thing is a money pit! Tom put way more work and parts into it than he thought he'd have to, and had trouble with it on the way home from camping in May (did I tell you? A tire blew and he had to take it off on the side of the highway, then limp home (it was one of the double tires, thankfully).

Now, it's giving him trouble again! He called and said he got up to his brother's with no problem and was on his way to the campsite.  Awhile later he called to say he got it up there, got the camper situated, then couldn't move the truck! The transmission wouldn't engage and he was worried he'd be stranded there and have to get it towed out (God knows what that would cost!). Later he called again to say he'd determined a hose had leaked and he'd lost all the transmission fluid and something may have blown out the front (??) and if so, the fix would be easy, but he'd have to pull the transmission. His brother was on his way out to the campsite with new hoses and fluid and Tom would try some sort of seal and hope to be able to get it moving enough to get it home on Sunday (no sense ruining a prefectly good camping trip, lol).

He hasn't said it, in so many words, but I have a feeling he's wishing he'd kept the van. I know I wish we had!

As for me, I had a nice day. I did a little shopping (just some groceries - nothing fun, lol), read some of my book, took a nap, shared some shrimp with Millie and watched a good movie - Battleship. Cool ships (you can't take the love of ships out of an ex-Navy wife), exciting battles and innovative strategy.

Now it's "spa night", lol. Bubble bath, a do-it-myself mani-pedi, and lounge around in my jammies till I feel like going to bed. All I'm missing are bon bons and a cute masseuse!
