....so upsetting for me..........

I just heard from my ds that Coffee was attacked by a dog.  Her ear is ripped and they had her at the vet of course .   No huge damage (no surgery required) thank goodness. The vet cleaned it off , gave  an antibiotic injection in  the site and an injection of pain killer.  That was on Saturday and they go back tonight for a check up to see if all is OK.  It seems my dh knew but didn't tell me about it   My dil took Coffee out for her morning run on Saturday, and Coffee charged out the front door of the building and ran across the street (think cars) to see that other dog.  The dog attacked diva and the owner didn't do a thing and then critized my dil that she had leaned in and grabbed Coffee from the fight.  Dil is fine.  As you all can imagine,   I'm in tears, I'm not there for my diva.... I know they are there with her, but it's not the same , not to me anyway.   (I have requested that in the future, when they need to take Coffee out even for a short peepee that she be lead out on the leash until they get to the other side of the road, safer for Coffee and for dil and they can see if there are any other dogs out there and she won't get hit by a car).    Thanks for listening.

Oh, how scary that must have been for your dil! And for Coffee!  And how frustrating it must be for you, not to be able to be there for her.  I'm glad she wasn't hurt worse and that your dil wasn't hurt! (((sympathetic hug)))

Well Mrs. Suzan I sure do hate to hear that.  You are correct though they should put Coffee on a leash atleast until they get to where they are going.  I have a dachshund at home that would not hurt a flea, but when he gets around other male dogs he goes nuts.  Not sure why because he is fixed but he thinks he can fight for some reason.  Not sure why dogs do what they do, but the person that had the dog that attacked Coffee had better be glad it was not me.  Their dog would have gotten a boot to the face.

Sorry you are upset but it seems that she will be fine.

{{Suzan}} poor Coffee...sure glad she is going to be ok. Hope she doesn't run out like that again but yes, good to have leash attached before opening the door. Glad DIL did not get hurt pulling Diva Dog away

NOT good for dh to hide this from you.Did he not think you might have been told ??

Oh, no!! Poor Diva...Poor You!!! This is even harder with you being so far away. You need to hug Coffee and she needs your loving hugs!! ::sniff:: So glad she will be okay and that your ddil wasn't hurt. Shame on that other dog's owner!!!

I hope your dh's not telling you was to protect you as long as he could. He had to know you'd find out, but maybe wanted to prolong it as long as he could.

I really feel for you knowing how badly you want to cuddle your beloved Diva right now. Frown
