Hi Ann, the weirdest thing is that I saw this thread when I wasn't signed in and then when I signed in the thread was gone.... so I could not reply before this. Anyway,,, I really believe that smokey was there to let you know that he was OK and that he was watching after you , Tom and Millie. Probalby many will think that I've lost a few nuts and bolts here but after my dad died, that summer I was so very sad so I took my ds and went to my summer house. I was alone in the bedroom as my dh hadn't arrived as he had to work an extra week. Well, one night I slowly woke up and felt something. In the doorway was a filmy floaty type of thing. It was my dad. He came to let me know that he was on his way to heaven and that all was OK and since I was alone in a foreign country with ds, he wanted to make sure all was safe for us. How do I know this? Well , before hand I just couldn't get these things out of my mind, wondering if he went to heaven and if all was OK with him, I also just had this nervous feeling for quite awhile after his death, I was just jittery all the time. AFter I saw him, the feeling was gone, jitterness was gone, I was peaceful and calm and knew he was gone and that he was also peaceful. Another time years earlier before I was married, I was in my NYC apartment and I was in the dining room when I got this very very sad feeling and wanted to cry. I thought oh , something's just not right. About 5 minutes later, a huge painting that was hanging in the living room crashed to the floor. Then I really got even more sad and it wasn't even an hour later that my mom called and said that my uncle had died. I asked her when and she said, "about an hour ago".
