Dh wants to have the basement repainted; the painter has time in mid March.
So I'm trying to figure out what color.
Since I don't want to have the entire interior repainted at this time
I need to figure out the stopping point so that it doesn't look odd.
The basement of course leads to the hallway that contunes up the stairs, etc.
So no really good wall to stop the painting.
The whole interior is a pale yellow (soothing) but am thinking about a new color.
Maybe wheat.  Guess I should head off to the DIY store to get inspiration.
Other than that, dh is thinking about continuing on with the side patio
(was supposed to do it last summer but could not due to my recuperation)
However, I really don't want the same people who did my back garden to do it,
but have not informed dh of that little detail  yet ;O)

That's all from me.....

Yes and no. I want to come up with somewhere Riley can sleep when she outgrows her portacrib here. Every option has drawbacks. I'd love to do something I saw on Pinterest - make a closet into a bed/reading nook. I could do it with the spare room/guest room closet but it would be a lot of work. First of all, I'd have to find somewhere for all the stuff I've jammed into that closet. Then a platform would have to be made and a mattress would have to be made, because it's not the same size as a twin bed.  And even if we managed to do all that, it would be a shortish, narrow bed and she'd have to sleep in the same room as Mom and Dad and she seems to sleep better in another room (as we found out when we put the portacrib in this room). And we'd lose a closet. Another option (not that it is really a home project, but I'm on a roll here, lol) is to put the futon that is in this room downstairs and get a daybed sort of thing in here. That would mean no one could go on the computer in the early evening when she was sleeping (not a biggie) and would mean buying a bed. But we'd then have extra sleeping area in the basement. Or (rolling on) she could just sleep on the futon, but I don't know how well that would work. Opened up, there'd be too many sides to fall off of and folded up I don't think it would be a very comfortable place to sleep all night.

So, our project might be making a closet into a book nook/dgdd bed, or maybe not, lol. Other than that, I can't think of anything we've thought of doing.

I would think that putting the futon in the basement and having C & B sleep down there would work fine.  Then U could just get a crib that eventually turns into a regular little bed for Riley in the spare room .  The computer,,,,, well looks to me like it's time you guys got a laptop ..... it's so much more flexible.        Fun thinking about these things though isn't it?   I had Mikie here on Thursday evening and have no bed /crib for him and I know we need to think about a sleeping arrangement for him.... in a couple months that is.....

We do have a laptop, but I seldom use it. I like my big monitor computer much more, lol. But it comes in handy when the computer room is in use, lol.

If we put a bed for Riley in this room, it would be a regular twin bed. That way we'd always have an extra single bed for anyone to sleep in, it would fit R from whenever she's out of a crib till forever, lol, and we'd still have the double bed for C and B in the spare room, like they have now. The futon in the basement would just give us extra options for the very rare times we have more than a couple people staying overnight.

But all these decisions are months down the road.  The port a crib will work for the time being, but when Riley goes into a real bed at home, I'd like to be ready here with an option for her.  Brian's been pushing to get her into a real bed, but I told him to be in no hurry.  Being in a "real" bed means she can get up whenever she wants!  Colleen was in a twin bed by the time she was two, but she'd been climbing out of her crib since she was a year old, so the move to a big bed wasn't a big change, lol.  So far, Riley stays happily in the crib until someone comes to get her and I told them they should enjoy that as long as they can!

Yes, I have projects to begin soon, I hope! I finally figured out what I want to do with my computer room window and just have to go to Home Depot and get started on fabric and color choices and get them ordered.

Next up will be to finally get my dining room chair backs recaned and then all of the seats repadded and recovered. I'll have to pick out fabric first and that will be a hard decision as I've been trying to decide on them for a few years now!

Then I'll look into the cost of getting the living room, dining and kitchen repainted. That means picking out a new color. Oh, goodness, I hate making these decisions!! So much easier to just keep putting it off and being sick and tired of the color that's in there now!!

Then there's the bedroom window coverings to reconsider. Ohhhh..groannnn!!! Does anyone have a magic wand I can flick over all of this and it will all be finished at once?? Undecided

Then maybe next year I'll consider changing the kitchen backsplash tile and the window coverings in there too. I'm pretty sure all of these decorating thoughts are giving me a headache!!

I am finishing up with painting the kitchen today. 1 more small wall to do and it's FINALLY  done! It is a cheery soft yellow- CREAMY OAT. Just need to get 2 cans of paint to do inside the entryways, stairwell & hallway. This color will be BIRCH. I was going to get more paint for the bathroom but found 2 half canfuls of light blue... they are different shades but I am just going to mix together & use.

That is all we are doing for now to spruce things up. We got a call & email from the real estate agent aboutr the house. Wayne says he will think about it over the weekend & give him a call. I told Wayne it is all up to him as I don't care either way, although I do prefer the other house ! As said before, we don't have to move...we want to. We want to get on the outskirts of town with fewer neighbors Laughing

Oh my - I finally was able to log in.  We need to do some major updating and repair to our master bathroom.  Not sure what we will do - waiting to see what our tax situation is and then we'll begin making a plan and selections.  Maybe some other small updates such as faucets or light fixtures.  We'll know what's in the budget after the tax man cometh!

Hi Ann,

I think you are right about the crib,,, why the rush... they wander and Riley is still young... once she starts climbing out then that's the time to switch.
