Update on my life's happenings

as promised to Suzan--since being AWOL this past year!

The good things--I got away for a couple of weeks!

I went to Maine for a family reunion in July--21 cousins in my generation, but 2 have passed and 7 others didn't come. However, there were 72 in attendance, spanning 5 generations. There was one aunt (87--my dad's sister), the only sibling from our parent's generation living. It was fun catching up on all the family news and meeting the younger generations!

Then, I went to PA in Sept.

It was nice getting away and seeing family and doing fun things, but I still worried about DH working the longer hours and taking care of the animals too. I just had to put it all in a hidden compartment in my brain while I was away (lol)! Yes, Donna, I am looking forward to a lots better year!

Wow!! Whenever I'm having a bad day with extra pain and such, I tell myself that there are other people who have it worse than I do and I stop complaining! Your year sounded like you were one of those "other people" I was thinking of. That is way too much stressful stuff on your plate!! Bless your heart, I hope the rest of this year will be lots better than last year!! Glad you got to enjoy your reunion trips though!

Yup...we got a good drenching! Fortunately I no bad reports of any damage, except a few downed trees. Nothing for us, thankfully.

Oh my goodness. I'm speechless Michelle. So much has been happening to you and yours. (()) I am glad that in spite of all , you were able to get away to your reunions. Must be nice to see everyone and get to know those new additions to the family too.

I hope the rest of this winter season is calmer for you and your family members,,, hope too that those clouds burst wide open and drench the land!

Hi, Bunny, thanks. I'll be around. Sorry to hear that the ablation procedure didn't work for your DH. MIL is on coumadin too--which she was put on several years ago when she had a mini stroke (TIA).The defibrillator she had put in last year has literally saved her life. It is designed to take over for the heart. It was only doing 90% of the work--the bad rythms from the heart were competing with the defibrillator. They found only two small areas of the heart that were sending out the bad rythms--which the ablation procedure destroyed. Now that the defirillator is doing 100%, she no longer needs her heart medicine. Have a good day!

All is good right now. The other good thing that happened (or didn't happen), I didn't have to go to the doctor for myself. Overall, my health is good.

Wahoo, right now it is raining--I'm talking about heavy downpours and several inches. If it weren't so cold I'd go outside and play in the rain (lol)--not to mention the thunder and lightning! The local news said there were numerous trees and limbs down and a possible tornado in the area. Lots of flooded roads. Storms keeping me awake, but the dogs are settling down so the worst is finally moving away.
