....went to my internist this morning....

No news yet though. I called early this morning and surprisingly enough, after I explained that I wasn't better since 27 Jan he told me to "come right over". (wow how lucky is that, there was no waiting time either?) So I did. My head cold is MUCH better , it's just the coughing at night and this arm and leg weakness. Can't walk too well too long, driving was kinda scary, but made it there and back. Dr held on to me going into his office. (he's so nice) He took 4 vials of blood and I'll have the results tomorrow morning. He prescribed an anitbiotic (3 day) and told me to stop taking my statins (cholesterol med) as that can produce the weak shaky arms and legs. Interesting.

Diva is here again today, as dil now has the sniffles and doesn't want to go out to walk Coffee in this sub zero weather, and ds is too busy to take diva to work with him (we are on our way upstairs to take a nap). Grammy to the rescue LOL

It might. I've been on Lipitor for years and years and never had a problem, but maybe since my cholesterol went down and I lost a bit of weight, I need a lower dose.

"Funny thing is that my internist had me off the statins for 3 months (for something else) and I had just gone back on it again end of January as I got the cold."

Suzan, it is possible that your body is having a reaction to the simvastatin after having been off of it for the three months. The problems can manifest very suddenly.

Ann, the fish oil does help lubricate the joints. It takes more than one night to feel effects after stopping the lipitor, it that is your problem.

Hi Michelle,

Well I contacted the dr (my internist is not there on Wed afternoons so it was the other doctor that took my call) . All the blood work came back: nothing wrong. This is a good thing.. I was hoping they'd say, "oh, it's this , take this pill and be done with it. LOL Anyway. They also tested to see if it was the simvastatin, nope that level is also OK. She said since I already took one of the antibiotics last night, then I need to take the other 2. Actually I'm taking them for nothing. Safer that way though. She said also, to continue not taking the simvastatin and see if by Monday I feel better. About 1/2 hr later, she called me back (wonders never cease). She said she had been thinking about this and went thru my charts for the past year and asked my permission to run another test on the blood from yesterday. I said OK. Now she's testing thyroid as she said the leg and arm problem (fatigue) is also a symptom of that. Wondering why my regular doctor didn't include that in his bloodwork from yesterday... anyway..... will wait til thursday or Friday, she wasn't ure when it would be back. thanks for all your input.

Your regular doctor was probably thinking more on the line of infection (since you were already sick), or a reaction to the simvastatin (since you recently went back on it). Guessing it has been a while since your thyroid was tested, otherwise she probably wouldn't want the test run. Who knows! Hope they find something--or not--lets hope it all goes away and you get better soon.

diva is here today too the dear little thing. Getting bored , glad I can let her roam around my garden and chase squirrels often....

Dh mentioned last night that he doesn't think we'll be going on Monday... he doesn't want to take me there feeling like this... I wouldn't mind cancelling the trip but feel really bad about the tickets not being used,, it's not like money grows on trees. At least none on my trees (darn)

A pot of cooked spaghetti!

Suzan, I am happy to hear you are not traveling! You need a rest & break from that stale traveling airplane air. It is not good for a body to be given antibiotics when not necessary. It does more harm than good. Sure hope the doc gets it figured out.

Bunny....sure hope it's not catchy....LOL

Feel better Hilary!

Girls??? Do I need to wear my facemask when chatting? My sniffles went away quickly and don't want to get sick...lol

Have a great day all with a HUGE glass of Orange juice & chicken soup for all!

Hilary, did you check out with Dr T if it's OK to be around Taylor or Oliver since you have shingles and they haven't had chicken pox?

Well as far as it stands we are still travelling on Monday, if I can walk at all. I hate to leave my ds/dil right now as she now has a head cold and she's suffering from severe morning /all day sickness, can't eat hardly anything except organges & apples and some plain ice cream. She can't smell anything, just makes her upchuck. The guest bathroom has been designate the "put on your deodarant room" LOL Unfortunately , Coffee has some little "doggy smells" that seem to bother her also, not sure if I go , where Coffee would be stationed for the interim. I don't smell anything but sweet doggie smells , then again I'm not preggo. LOL
I hardly ever take antibiotics and they are given here only if necessary. Unfortunately , I was supposed to wait unti I got the results and I popped the pill that night... forgot to wait,,,, my mistake, Just now that I did, I have to take the entire 3 day dosage.
