What a day!

It started at 6:30 when some guy called about the van Tom is trying to sell. He wanted to come see it, but T said it wasn't a good time, so they decided on tonight. That would have been fine - if he had stuck to that. I went out early, got my blood drawn and went to the dentist. On the way home I stopped at the grocery store. I no sooner got in than the guy called, wanting to come see the van in an hour!  I know T wanted to sell it, so I said okay, then tore around here, putting away the groceries, emailing T to ask what to do about his set of keys - that he has at work - and the title which he has to sign.  He called saying we'd have to send the guy the keys and title. Then I ran out to look the van over and take off the license plates and they pulled up.  All went pretty well. They seemed to like it and I was able to answer most of their questions. Then they tried to turn on the radio. ....it didn't work!  I said I knew it worked, because it was working the last time I drove it, but Tom decided one day to turn it off and he is the only one who knows how to turn it on, apparently.  I called him, but he couldn't tell me what button to push without seeing the radio, so was no help.

Then, suddenly, they said they had to go! I don't blame them. With my frustration at the radio and trying to talk to Tom on the phone and the buyers I must have looked like a real ditz! They said they had to check out a few more, but I really don't think so. It seemed as if they were real interested until the fiasco with the radio happened. I told them to come back when Tom was here and he'd show them anything they wanted to know about the radio - and anything else, but I don't think they'll be back. I think I scared them off.  If only Tom had not turned the radio off, I really think they'd have taken the van.  Maybe not, but it's what I feel.  I hate that radio anyway. It's frustrating to use (an "ON" button would be nice, instead of expecting you to just know what button turns it on) and I don't know WHY Tom turned it off! We NEVER turn it off (for good reason).

Oh well, there have been a few other people interested. Maybe one of them will buy it. Or maybe these people will come back. I don't know.... I'd rather not sell it anyway, I like that van, lol!

So now I'm trying to settle my mind after a frustrating, hectic, HOT day. I think it's Diet Coke and Jeopardy time, lol!

Hi Ann, well there are many reasons they might not want to buy the van and you'll never know why . So don't beat yourself up about it..... ;O)
It will sell when it does, and hopefully the next time T will be there to show them the van and it's quirks. Go have some shrimp for dinner and all will be well LOL

We need a "to all" option, lol.

As it turns out, the radio didn't work! Tom checked out the connections and said he thinks the relay (or something) for the horn shorted out the radio somehow. I know the guy pressed the horn yesterday, and nothing happened, but I thought maybe he was pressing the wrong spot or not hard enough. T thinks maybe it had a problem all along and it just cropped up then.  When we thought about it, neither of us could even remember ever honking the horn! Or what the horn even sounds like! I guess we're just not aggressive or assertive enough, lol!
And in a related, kind of funny aside, I almost never use my horn. The place I tend to hit when I tend to hit, is the radio volume control, and even when I hit the spot, it takes a good push to get it to go.  So what I usually do is turn up the radio, lol! I always feel so silly when I do that! It's like I'm saying, "There! I'll blast my radio at you! That'll teach you to cut me off!"

So... Tom has the radio working now, but thinks he'll have to put in a new horn - or something.

And someone else called and then came by to check it out last night! Thankfully, Tom was here and handled all the guy's questions. He (the guy) likes it and it looks promising. He said he has 5 grandkids and is looking for something he could take them all places in. Well, this would do it! Lots of room, individual radios and headphones, a tv, dvd player, and even a vhs player. The back seat area even turns into a double sized bed! And I like the idea of our van transporting someone's grandkids, lol.

Another guy called and asked if Tom would trade the van for a Honda Goldwing motorcycle. The trade would be pretty even, and it was tempting, but Tom isn't into motorcycles and doesn't know if he wants to start now. So if this guy can sell his bike for a good price, he'd be interested in buying the van.  .....Frankly, I'd rather sell it to the grandpa, LOL!

I think we all know that when we reply to ourselves, it means "to all", or that we just like to hear ourselves talk..LOL!!

Well, darn on that horn and radio!! Good Tom knows how to fix it though. I'm rooting for the grandpa with grandkids too!! Crossing digits for you!!

Life can be so frustrating sometimes, Ann, but hopefully you'll soon have that van sold.
