After reading The Hunger Games trilogy books, I needed a "brain rest" book!! They were good and I enjoyed reading them and they were fast reads and I still can't believe I read them..lol!

I recently finished my "brain rest" book, On The Island, a debut novel by Tracey Garvis Graves. Don't remember if I mentioned it here or on another book thread somewhere else. Loved this book and my husband does too as he is now reading it also. A 30 year old teacher and her 16 year male student become castaways on an uninhabited island in the Maldives after a small plane crash. Very interesting what they do to survive and then what their life is like after they are rescued almost 4 years later. It is a story of real true lasting love. This one would make an excellent movie!!

Now reading Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet. Excellent book of substance and way not fluff, a type of book that I call a "smart book"!! During WWII and hardships the Japanese had to endure in the US and internment camps. Sweet and tender story of a Chinese boy and Japanese girl in the 6th grade who become friends and as they become separated when she and her family are interned and their reunion years later. Many other interesting things happen, very enjoyable story.

Watching DWTS when I remember to turn it on.

Just watched The Voice for the first time last night. One of the contestants, Chris Mann, is from right here in my town!! Wow, what an outstanding operatic voice he has!! They're down to the final three in each of the two "camps", and he's still there! Whether he wins or not, I hope someone gives him a good contract out of this experience!

I also watch Army Wives, a long time favorite of mine.

That's pretty much the only tv I ever watch besides my daily soap Days of Our Lives.

Have fun bowling Ruth, what do you do after bowling? I remember we'd play against another team and whoever lost had to buy beer for the winners. LOL
