I can imagine what the BIG Whines is here! Twice I got I got "you are not authorized to enter" eh...what's the use in whining??

It was a long dreary day today. started out on icy ,foggy roads. This afternoon, we went to a funeral service for a good friend's father. It was a nice ceremony.Although a sad occasion, it was good to see the family.

I am applying to a different position at the office. It is still p/t for now.The manager & a few others want me to get the job...I probably will. Just have to go through the silly applying & interview process.

The real estate agent is coming over Saturday for room measures & get an estimate for listing!!! still a few things left to do to perk things up for pics.

Whines: I have to go to the doctor tomorrow. It's just to get the lab results and have a PAP test (blech!), but I can't shake the bad feeling I have about it.

It snowed today. We got about 3 inches. Not bad, but not what I want to see or deal with.

Wahoos: Um... Hmm... I'll have to get back to you on this one, lol.

Thanks, Suzan.  The test results were pretty good! My BP was "perfect", she loved my cholesterol levels, the mammogram looked normal and she saw nothing of concern from the PAP test. My blood sugar was a little high, but she said she wasn't worried.  Maybe she isn't, but I bet my endocrinologist (who is convinced I have diabetes) will give me grief about it when I see him in a couple of weeks.  But that's borrowing trouble and I'm not going to do that. I'm going to be happy about the good results today and try to get back on my diet and exercise plan to get the blood sugar number down so everyone is happy.

Whines: Today was a REALLY busy day. Had two conferences to go to, as well as a "group project" with some other students in my class. I didn't eat breakfast this morning, so when we ordered pizza, it was, well, rough. I ate nearly an entire box of heavy, greasy, fattening pizza that afternoon, in the rush of the projects. I can't describe the wonderful relief on my tummy about an hour or two ago when I finally was able to unbutton my pants (discreetly) while studying in the library later, my tummy felt like it had overloaded sandbags in it.

My diet is really going down the drain, I just can't seem to get back on track, and I'm starting to gain more pounds. I'm not overweight, and I don't look like it either, although it's starting to show. I'm gaining a bit of a "muffin top", which I haven't had since middle school (the last time I was "fat").I'm only about 8-10 lbs over my usual weight, but I feel like I gained way more than that, I haven't felt this fat, ever!

Wahoo: Really, just being able to unwind tonight. Kicking off my heels, proppinig up my feet, and catching up with my gal pals on iVillage is so relaxing at the end of the day. Smile

Hi Ann, sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, but this thread fell into the posts from early Nov.... the black hole that is my first folder.   Anyway, I'm glad all is in order....  I have a question... do you fast before your blood tests.  When we have our general check up ,  we have to stop eating the 12 hrs before the appointment so that the levels are even more exact.  (This is especially helpful for sugar and cholesterol... ) so just wondering how it is there...?

At any rate, good the levels are in order.... don't worry ...

Hi Megan.

You will get back on track real soon.  Just take baby steps in losing the extra lbs.  I'm sure you can add in some time for a bit of exercising if not just walking more.... Take the subway to the stop before your stop for instance... ;O)   I find that breakfast is not a good meal to skip.  Invest in a blender and have a healthy shake in the morning if you have no tiime for something else.  I make my dh a low fat  milk /banana/oatmeal/ coconut/and whatever he wants in it,,, throw it all in the blender , pulse until smooth and chug a lug.     Easy, quick, and clean up can be done when you get home.

Wow..I almost missed a chance to whine!! LOL!! This post was buried way down the board, as they all always are, and somehow I missed it along with some others!! I expect you all know by now that we all have to search for new threads and float them to the top. If the person who creates the thread floats it, it only floats for them, not for us. Anyhoo.....

WooHoos first....

DH's bday party last Saturday was a lot of good fun! His family and my family, all like each other and conversation is always lively. My big gift to dh was one of those big remote control airplanes with a 3+ ft. wingspan! We have to go back to the hobby shop first as the man who sold it to me insisted that dh come in and talk to him first before launching it. It's too cold out now anyway, so it will be awhile.

Sunday at my youngest dgd's High Tea, it was very nice. DD used a tablecloth that had been her paternal grandmothers..my mother's china..my mother's sterling silver flatware..her paternal grandmother's silver tea set..it sat on a silver and mother of pearl tray that my other dd had given her a few years ago..the fruit sat on an old decorative plate that my aunt, age 88, who lives in Kansas City had given my dd. It was emotional using all of these special family items. We all dressed nice, women wore our boas, dh wore a dress shirt and tie and dgs wore a top hat. Very special, Very nice!

Yesterday we went to the Jersey Boys live stage performance. It's the life history of The Four Seasons group. It was so good!!! The music was fabulous!! Then we went out to dinner to one of our favorite restaurants. It was a nice date day!

Today was good, too, having lunch with best friends. Another good day!

It got cold again!! Brrrr!!! We even had a dusting of snow yesterday morning! The price of gas has gone up a lot again. There are 45 more days until spring (that's a woohoo). Of course there's still the iVillage boards mess going on, but I am glad you gals are still here to talk to!!
