I had just about everything I wanted here. It was just a matter of being patient till something worked. I'm feeling okay now. Still sniffly and a little sneezy, but I'll live, lol.

Hope you start feeling better Donna. How about the sugar free menthol Halls... ?
anyway, hopefully you won't be needing them too long. Is it settling in your chest? Hope not. (())

Hi Donna,

Believe it or not, it's all part of this neck problem.  Everything I've had in the past 10 months is part of that.  Nasty!  I'm still being good, (resting more than before as now I can see how bad it is for me to overdo and recognize more what I can or can't do and accept it). Yes I clean and mow the lawn BUT with breaks and all , I've learned how to do that.  I have to do something for exercise and to keep my sanity during the day.  I can only read for a little while in spurts, but have to say my eyesight is also getting better (also from the neck) , at least I'm not seeing in stripes now. Last week I only had 2 episodes of breathing problems , of course it's an involuntary action and one realizes just how involuntary it is when your brain doesn't relay the message that it's time to breath.   (scary)   Internet & reading  is still murderous for the pain in my arms and hands.  The vits seem to help that a bit now too. Dh takes me for out dinner many times a week, but I can now cook a bit if I keep it simple.  As they told me, baby steps, every month will have it's improvement in some way.  I'm hoping that tonight (meeting old friends and co workers) that I'm able to stand and walk correctly and that I can hold my attention.  Most of these people I haven't seen since 1990 when I stopped working. I warned the guy who invited us what was up with me, so he's not shocked (he's the architect I worked directly with for 11 yrs here).  We'll see, dh is taking me so he'll "protect me" and bring me on home if needed.     The place we're meeting is a huge beer hall and it's the night before October fest, so will be full to the brim and noisy with umpah music and I wish it were on another week after the fest is over.  I'll try, wish me luck.

The coughing stopped around 3:00 yesterday afternoon. Another day or two and I'll be good as new again. No, not settling in my chest, it's going away. Thank you.

Hi Donna,

Amazing, in a not so good way, how this is effecting other parts of your body.  I'm still being good, (resting more than before as now I can see how bad it is for me to overdo and recognize more what I can or can't do and accept it). Yes I clean and mow the lawn BUT with breaks and all , I've learned how to do that. Good, glad you figured that out.  I have to do something for exercise and to keep my sanity during the day.  I can only read for a little while in spurts, but have to say my eyesight is also getting better (also from the neck) , at least I'm not seeing in stripes now. Whoa on that eyesight problem!! Last week I only had 2 episodes of breathing problems , of course it's an involuntary action and one realizes just how involuntary it is when your brain doesn't relay the message that it's time to breath.   (scary) Okay, now that one is *really* scary!!! I hope that never happens again or that it stops soon!! Internet & reading  is still murderous for the pain in my arms and hands. Do you have an E-Reader or can you read on your iPad or computer so you wouldn't have to hold the books in your hands? The vits seem to help that a bit now too. Dh takes me for out dinner many times a week, but I can now cook a bit if I keep it simple. That's good you can cook a little. Going out to eat is fun, but our own cooking at home is the best.  As they told me, baby steps, every month will have it's improvement in some way. Yes, I have found that to be true with all of my surgeries too. I'm hoping that tonight (meeting old friends and co workers) that I'm able to stand and walk correctly and that I can hold my attention. I hope you can, too, but people are understanding. Don't strain yourself by trying too hard.  Most of these people I haven't seen since 1990 when I stopped working. I warned the guy who invited us what was up with me, so he's not shocked (he's the architect I worked directly with for 11 yrs here). So glad you're getting to do this!!  We'll see, dh is taking me so he'll "protect me" and bring me on home if needed. God bless our husbands!    The place we're meeting is a huge beer hall and it's the night before October fest, so will be full to the brim and noisy with umpah music and I wish it were on another week after the fest is over.  I'll try, wish me luck.  Oh, goodness, a setting like that does not lend itself towards good conversation for catching up!! I expect it will be exhausting for you, but hope it's a fun time too. Let us know how it went.

HI D,

Well, it was surely nice to see everyone again but it was totally exhausting.  The main problems I had were:  people popping up from their seat to give me a hug (throwing their arms around my neck) and trying to talk to the people next to me so that I had to have my head turn to the right all evening which made my neck soooo sore today.  We stayed until 11pm, got home at midnight and crashed.  Woke up at 10am like a zoombie with an extremely aching neck.  At any rate, it was nice to be in a gathering of all English speaking friends for a change (so I didn't have to tax my brain with German LOL) .

About this restaurant: it seats 1100 people, need I say more?  I don't have the capablility to make a link here: but it's the Ratskeller am Marienplatz Munich  is you care to look it up.  It's HUGE , we had never eaten there before so that was nice to experience. It was packed full, but it's in all separated rooms so even with all 1100 people it wasn't all that noisy.

You would think after having slept until 10 am I wouldn't have been able to nap this afternoon but I did.  WOW 2.5 hrs.

Coping with physical pain and discomfort is exhausting!  The main problems I had were:  people popping up from their seat to give me a hug (throwing their arms around my neck) Ouch!! and trying to talk to the people next to me so that I had to have my head turn to the right all evening which made my neck soooo sore today. Future tip: turn your whole body in that direction, slide around in your seat, not just your head. I have to do that all the time myself because my spine doesn't turn well. We stayed until 11pm, got home at midnight and crashed.  Woke up at 10am like a zoombie with an extremely aching neck.  At any rate, it was nice to be in a gathering of all English speaking friends for a change (so I didn't have to tax my brain with German LOL) . Good you could rest today! Yes, that must have been a relief to have English speaking friends there!

The restaurant is *beautiful*!! I would love to go to a place like that too! It has such an old world look to it, love that!
