Nice post Wordyone!

I have to agree with what you said, I rarely talk politics with others either as it is always such a heated subject.

Though I got my ballot example and my mail in ballot and ummm what is up with Roseanne being on the ballot? I guess since we had RR and a few other Senators/Congresspersons that were/are actors it is the norm?

I'm not one to talk about politics, but that doesn't mean I don't have strong opinions. It just means I don't care to argue with people who disagree with me and don't respect my differing opinions.  But you can bet I vote! Every chance I get, even if I don't like either candidate, lol. I never say "oh well, I don't like them both, so I won't vote". I read up on the issues and what they say they'll do (and ignore any and all tv attack ads) and go with whoever I think will help me and my family the most. But that's not really telling you why I vote, so, to answer your question:

I vote to express my opinion about a person or an issue (and anyone who knows me knows how much I like to express my opinions, lol). I vote because it is a right I have that not all countries have and by voting, I hope to make better the issues that matter to me.

And I vote because, if you don't vote, you can't complain if your candidate doesn't win!
