I have a very dear friend who lives a few states away.

Maybe she's waiting to hear from her DD.

Forgive me, but who is DD?

Like Hearto, I thought she'd be older by reading your post. Why don't you just pick up the phone and ask your friend?

Is it possible that she didn't get the email and is still waiting to hear from you?

I don't understand why a 7 year old wouldn't be staying with adults already. Why is she leaving her mother, your friend, for a period that's obviously longer than the 7 year old will be able to stay with the relatives? What kind of crazy parent sends her young child on that kind of vacation?

Okay, this friend has a history of putting me on the spot. Had she simply said "_____ doesn't have a place to stay for two days..." and left it at that, of course I would have offered my home up to her. There are variables at play that I don't wish to divulge here, but the imposition isn't simply because she'll be staying with me for two days. My friend knows it's an imposition. However, even with that being a fact, I really don't mind. What I mind is being asked to do a favor for someone and then feeling as if I have to be the person to follow up on it. She needs to be the organizer, not me. I should also add, I would never take any beef I may have with the mother, out on this little girl. That would be irresponsible, irrational and down right immature.

Since there was very little to go on, it's hard to figure out what's going on.
