DD obsessed with men?

DD is obsessed to have a man in her life. Divorced 9 years ago and has had 5 boy friends until now. The repetitive cycle, first there are the best men on earth and as time goes by troubles start and no relationship lasts more than 2 yrs. She hardy knows them and let them enter in her house, bed, life and helps them financially. Guess if she could, she´d give them a bath and dress them as well.
One of the guys, when having trouble for money (that she gave him and later regret) Even threaten her to send some guys to hit her. (A very aggressive guy)
I worry for my grandkid that sees every two years a different guy in her mom´s bed and life.
Have asked when she´s is going to stop with this. She replies “Until I find the man I want in my life”.

Well, once in a while she says she knows it´s not right what she´s doing. (When I make her think )But she also says she is an eternal optimistic and she always believes THIS time things are going to work well.
About counseling,
Unfortunately, there are people, men and women, who MUST have a significant other in their lives at all times. I have a niece who is like this...she's not been w/o a boyfriend since she was in grade school. It's sad that they feel they can't be alone in the world, even for a short amount of time, but I think we, as family, just have to find a way to be at peace with it and be as supportive as possible.
