Hello all... I am just wondering if anyone else has been in my situation.... I just moved 2000 miles away back to my hometown after being gone for 8 years....I am having a hard time readjusting to life. I miss all my friends....I moved back because I was having a hard time monetarily. I feel like, if I could rewind time...I would not have moved back. Despite being completey broke and alone. I am from a smaller town than I was living in...most my old HS friends I used to hang w/ are now married w/ kids...I have\

You mention you had a difficult time adjusting when you moved 8 years ago, but then life happened and you now "love" the place you left.

Hello...thank you for your reply!!! It has only been three weeks that Ive been here, and I KNEW there would be an adjustment. In all honesty, when I moved the first time that adjustment was actually worse. I was homesick for well over a year. I guess for me, its the fact that I feel like I';ve "failed" ... most people do not treat me this way, I guess its just the thing I have been telling myself. I do love my fam and hope to reconnect w/ them all again so I hate feeling this way. I did just get hired somewhere and am hoping to meet cool people that way. I agree, if I moved back to the city I had been living in things would be different. Most people move on, find new friendships, etc. It wouldnt be likely I';d even get my old job back. I want to make the best out of my time here, I dont want to always be counting down til my next "escape" so to speak.

ANyway, I knew Id feel like this, I guess it just takes time...thanks for all ur kind words!

Bailey--My son (38 years old) lost his job as a computer engineer 3 years ago due to cut-backs.

I can relate, I'm from a place where I am not the religious demographic and there is some differences. I've a hard time fitting into the group.

Trust me, when I say I can relate.

I don't want to inundate you with advice...do this, do that, join this group, take up this hobby. I'm sure you've heard all of that before...just wanted you to know I read your post, and am sorry you are feeling so alienated. I hope things turn around for you, soon.
