I've been reevaluating my relationship with my family, and with my sister - my twin sister.

Well, if she's not calling anyone, not even her own daughter, then you can't take it personally. Sounds like this is just WHO she is and yea, you're right...you might just have to accept that this is the relationship that you will have with her. You're the giver & she's the taker....kwim?

I'm not sure the reason but I sorta see her pov. I work on the phone all day long, by the time I get home, I don't want to talk to anyone on the phone. Not my mom, my kids, my husband....I'm just tired of talking at the end of the day and the thought of having to have yet another thought filled conversation is often times very exhausting!!! That's not to say that I'm a recluse or anything, I associate with people, I just do it on my own terms & what makes me comfortable. I figure if ppl really want to talk, they'll call....

I've accepted the relationship that my brother and I have...we communicate less often than you and your sister, and most of the time its via email.

I guess I should clarify...its not everyday that I come home from work & shut the whole world out. But there are times, sometimes more than once a week, that I just am too mentally exhausted when I get home to talk... If you call me, I'll try, but I would make my outgoing calls when I was up to it. Of course there are days that I have some exciting news to share or days when I got some bad news to share & then I'll call my mom or sister...so its not that I'm ANTI-phone, its just that some days I'm less chatty than others!

I agree w/ elc11---this is just the way your sister is...

Could it be that she's depressed`? People who are depressed often act the way you described your sister. I was depressd for years. It took all my energy to go to work and take care of my kids.My sister thought I was being stand offish when really I was locked up in my own mind. Just a thought, don't give up on her. Good luck to you.
