,Don't leave your children in the car for even a second.

It's happened twice that I know of. And neither time did either cop get fired.

I don't remember the specifics of the last incident, (I could probably find the link if you want), but the first one was a few years ago in my old hometown. The cop left his dog in the car while it was running outside the sheriff's dept. Sometime over the next few hours, the engine died. He never once went outside to check on the dog or the car. Not fired and no charges. Idiot.

What did you do about it?

A month or two ago, another cop in Texas let his cop dog die in a car. Pathetic.

How about our furry friends as well? It is also too hot to leave pets in our cars in this heat. I was at the grocery store earlier this week and somebody had left their dog in the car, with the windows only cracked. When I got into my car, the temperature reading was near 100. The dog was barking and whining.

Over the weekend, some idiot left an infant in the car, and the infant is now in the hospital.

It's been like close to 40 with the humidex here over the weekend.
