If you have been over on the Dealing with in-law board, you will know that the in-laws (MIL/BIL) just have to poke me all of the time. Well since Christmas I haven't been bothered by either of them. DH has gone up to MIL's for her Royal Command dinner's alone for the last 3 months~~YEA. I'm just ticked as punch or so I thought.

Recap: BIL/MIL were talking about me in front of dh's 2 neices {9 yr old dn asked dh if "Auntie Sam difficult to live with?" dh told her no I was alot of fun to live with--no 9 yr uses words like difficult, I know I had 3 of them plus I driven school bus for years & hadn't

~~Sam stitches well with others, runs with scissors in her pocket. Cheerful and stupid.

I've followed some of your story over the years. Your MIL is a real piece of work.

I think it's awesome that you stood up to her. I hope your DH doesn't give you too much trouble.

You did the right thing. It sucks having a bday so close to Mothers day, doesn't it? Mine is the 6th, and I always get grief from MIL, though DH, if I want to go away for a weekend, which I often do, to avoid the drama. This year, we are going away, and I'm doing an Easter bruch to celebrate Easter, Mothers day and my bday. Screw her if she doesn't like it or decides not to attend! Stick to your guns!

My BD is the 13th & it falls on MD--the 1 yr they were together MIL told dh that I couldn't celebrate my BD or MD, it was all about HER. Well that was the last time I did MD or my BD with her.

This current situation is a husband problem, not an in-law problem.
