Hi cyngb,

She has her own dog business. She can stay with the dog at the place of where the dog lives, or she can check up on the dog and go from there. Thats why she told me to let her know what I want so she knows how to charge me.

No she doesnt give me anything for gas or maintence in that matter. I do get the guilt trip sometimes, we are family. I dont by it much anymore, because family would not do that to family.

Hi,

I have already done that. I also told her how I felt and I didnt think it was right. Which we she say she was sorry. She also said, that if I decide to have her watch my dog then she would be glady to do it. Interesting! Dont you think?

THanks,
Crystal

I agree with elc11 that it might be a good idea to sit down and have an honest talk with your cousin.

You're right that its not fair and it sounds like she has been taking advantage of your generosity. Sometimes people are so self-absorbed that they don't realize that they are supposed to return favors. Maybe its time to have an honest talk with her and tell her straight up that you're surprised that she expects payment for this favor because you have done XYZ to help her out. (does she pay you for gas when you drive around her daughter, do their shopping, etc?) That gives her a chance to recognize and appreciate your efforts and remember that she needs to reciprocate. By her response you will know if you ought to reconsider how much help you will give her in the future.

Her response sounds really cold for sure.

Where would the dog stay?

Regardless, her response sounded pretty heartless.

Are you going to keep continuing to pick up your cousin, and help them out?
